Troubleshooting - Automobilista 2

No Bother at all Marius, I appreciate your efforts!

I have done both procedures, the verify did nothing.
the mods folder only has the "example.zip" in it, should I delete the entire folder?
when I delete the AMS2 folder in my docs, the game loads with default settings and lets me go to the menu and make a few changes then locks up tight as shown in my video.
I have also tried deleting the folder and making no menu changes, going to choose car/track and it locks up.
very frustrating.

I seem to remember an app called "WhoCrashed" that detailed windows processes during application crashes, would something like that help in tracking down my issue?

Update; I have run the new version of WhoCrashed and it identified an old version of a backup app called Acronis that could be the culprit, I uninstalled it and the game now loads to menu without crashing, I will now connect all my Fanatec equipment and software from Fanalab, SimHub and Discord to see if the game is stable again.
Thanks for your help I will report when I have a definitive test run.

Update2; uninstalling Acronis True Image software did the trick, all is well for 30 minutes of racing. I hope this is the definitive fix. WhoCrashed software was invaluable in detecting the culprit. Thanks again Marius for testing with your equipment and making me take a closer look at my software environment.

Hi everyone! Two days ago I bought a Moza GS V2P steering wheel. And I was very disappointed when I saw that the game AMS2 doesn't recognize all of its functions. It's impossible to assign functions like TC, ABS, DIFF, etc., to the rotary encoders. The game simply doesn't recognize these controls on the steering wheel.

And yet, I bought this particular steering wheel model precisely so that all the functions would finally be at my fingertips, and not on the keyboard. I couldn't find a solution to this problem online. It turns out that this is a widespread problem. I hope the developers will finally address this issue and realize that there are other direct drive steering wheels in the world besides Fanatec.

 

A rotary encoder often have two modes, one where it acts as a simple +/- rotary switch, and another more advanced mode where each position represents a unique state. AMS2 only supports the first mode, so check how your rotaries are configured.

Thank you for your advice. I have tried all these methods and I know how these encoder function change settings work. But the point is that AMS2 doesn't see the other encoders. The game only sees two encoders on my Moza GS V2 steering wheel: Brake Bias and ERS.
Other racing games (F1 25, LMU, AC EVO and ACC) work without problems with the other five encoders on the steering wheel.

 

Does anybody have stuttering without frame drops since the last update (1.6.9)?
I haven't been sure for the last couple of weeks because I haven't had enough time to test thoroughly. But today I tried a couple of different scenarios and I always had bad stuttering in chase cam when driving and in replay mode in TV cam and chase cam. I haven't changed any settings or hardware.

 

Try Full Screen instead of Borderless, or deactivate all Overlays from other programms, that solved it for me at least

I always run my games in Full Screen and I haven't used any overlays in AMS 2. There are also running no programs in the background - besides Steam (ofc), AMD Adrenaline and Fanatec App.
It baffles me because I've never had such extreme stuttering (without measurable or dsiplayed FPS loss) in AMS 2 before. Maybe I just have to wait for the next update.

 

The last update changed graphic settings for some users. Check if things like Supersampling or this new LOD Streaming is now active which can result in performance loss

 

This might be it. Thank you. That's the only thing which has "changed" besides the AMS 2 update.

 

My 4 cars that I had for a short bit vanished. Audi R8 Supercar class, Dodge Viper ACR Supercar class, Maserati GT2 Stradle Supercar class, and the Aston Martin Valkyrie in the hypercar class.

yes, of course.

 

i did the file validation, and it found 1 wonky file. i uninstalled the entire game and reinstalled it. im still missing the cars. my steam account is attached to my profile. if you can check it, that's fine. perhaps im missing something as far as a certain DLC, but I dont think I am.

 

i figured it out. I hadn't purchased pt 2 of the supercar pack, or that's what worked anyway. Thank you so much for your help, it was my fault for not paying attention.
