Troubleshooting - Automobilista 2

What I'm asking for is to improve the game's quality of life. I'm not asking for cars, I'm not asking for tracks, I'm asking for a game that works without problems.

Please fix the peripheral detection. It's not possible that if, for example, a USB port is moved, the game no longer recognizes a steering wheel or a button box.

In my case, I updated my PC by changing the motherboard and processor, I formatted it, and now it doesn't recognize the steering wheel base. The game doesn't communicate at all. It seems, with RaceHub, the Asetek base software. Instead of correctly detecting the RX+ and RX- axes, it detects left thumbstick:left, right thumbstick:right.

Needless to say, the game and wheelbase are set up correctly, I've reinstalled AMS2 and RaceHub several times, I've completely reassigned the controls, deleted the documents folder, and I've even formatted it to no avail.

My Asetek Forte base works fantastically on any sim, except AMS2. Honestly, with all the sims out there, it wouldn't be a big problem to give up on Automobilista 2, but I've been following it since day one and I've always bought the DLCs on day one and I intend to sign up for the paddock as soon as registrations open, I'm really sorry I can't play it.

 

I know it's frustrating to have game-controls changing status based on USB-port positions but, I have had similar issues with other titles as well. I'm at the point where I actually map all of my USB-device connections so I can reconnect everything the exact same way, every time. This generally avoids having to re-assign controls however, sometimes I may have to reload the saved control profile in AMS2.

Another useful tip is using USB-hubs with individual port on/off buttons, not only to avoid potential issues but, also for troubleshooting connection issues. The back of my PC is difficult to access without moving my very heavy race-rig, so having some work-a-rounds to simplify such things makes a big difference.

 

There is an issue when creating a multi-class racing session. It is not possible to add the LMDh class. Please check on your end. The LMDh class cannot be added at all — it simply does not work for me.

 

I tried it this afternoon and it worked like a charm.

Have you selected a LMDH car as your car? Because then LMDH class is automatically selected.

Otherwise might be good to verify the game files in Steam.

 

I select GT3 as my starting class. Then I add the LMDh class. I edit the number of cars on the grid — for example, 4 GT3 cars and 3 LMDh hypercars.

However, after loading the session, I end up with 7 GT3 cars on the grid instead.

There are no issues when adding other racing classes. For example, I created a race with 4 GT3 cars, 3 GT1 cars, and 4 LMP1 prototypes — everything works fine. But if I try to add LMDh, they simply do not get added.

 

Do you have any liverypacks/custom AI files installed? i think those could cause these issues to occur

 

You were absolutely right. I removed the third-party skin packs and AI files, then verified the integrity of the game files in Steam. The issue is now resolved.

 

Hi guys, I can't set the distance values for the triple monitor, and it won't let me select the two side monitors at all. It lets me set the values for the central monitor, but then they reset to zero. Also, the FOV won't go below 88. What can I do?

 

I am having trouble installing this new update. It never happened before. Download is complete but installation process is stuck at 99%. After a while it gives error Disk write error. I have cleared steam cache but to no avail. What should I do?

 

I've had this issue with a couple of games on steam, usually what fixes it is a uninstall, clean the steamapps/common/automobilista2 folder (delete the folder if it exists), and then reinstall. Its anoying but its all I got

 

Thanks for fixing the recent CTD. But sadly Nascars(Stock USA) are gone! I have every Racin USA DLC installed yet they are not available. Please help!
