I have the same headset, and it works for me. Can you show me the tab with native and cropped resolution values (in OXRT)?

well whatdaya know, I made the changes again to get the screenshot you wanted, restarted (i had also restarted previously) and hey presto its now working! I'm glad you challenged me on it as otherwise I'd parked the idea.
    Thanks man.

I use Q3 and Virtual Desktop. I noticed in AMS2 the tarmac looks quite crushed from a compression perspective on some tracks. eg Monaco when when running 500mbs H.264+. I was running 60% sharpening in Virtual Desktop app (not the streamer). AMS2 is quite bad for this as its less noticeable in other sims.

The latest VD now has CAS sharpening at the PC end selectable in the streamer itself. I disabled the 60% sharpening in the app in the Q3 and enabled 70% in the new streamer on PC instead. This has made a huge difference to the compression artifacts on the tarmac. There is now actual detail instead of mushy compression at Monaco. This is now miles better for me. If you haven't tried it for yourself in VD streamer, give it a go.

It was one of the things where direct link was way better with 940mbs bitrates.. But now, with 500mbs in VD using H.264+, its absolutely fine. (200mbs using AV1 still looks mushy though so I don't use AV1 and low bitrates like 200mbs.. at least not in AMS2)

I saw the new setting but haven't played with it yet. I'll now have to give it a go. Thanks for the info on the new feature.

The Cheat Engine can be used to modify network speed, and it has been tested to be very stable at 1000mbs,3080ti graphics card

Any tips for getting TAA sharper? I've whacked it up to max 400 in the settings but compared to MSAA on Low it's far too blurry at distance for my personal tastes, also seems to be drawing more power from the GPU & CPU so it's not quite the performance improvement I was hoping for.

Maybe I was thinking it was something different to what it actually is

TAA is never as sharp, but is generally better for jaggies, with much less performance cost than MSAA.
But you can get add more sharpness through open xr tool kit or through some headset software like with pimax.

I use TAA in Microsoft Flight Simulator and it's nothing like it is in AMS2, it's much clearer and sharper and yet with AMS2 I'm using a higher HMD Resolution so it's almost like DLSS to me in how blurry the picture detail is, sure I've got OpenXR Toolkit but I think I'm expecting something different perhaps.

MSAA on Low works very well for me so I may just stick to that but will give TAA a go, the performance increase however isn't a good starting point so that's a little odd as all I read in the beta section was people getting better performance o_O

I think you’re just use to msaa in AMS 2, you would see it the same in MSFS 2024 if they had MSAA.
    Also MSFS was developed around TAA/DLSS where’s AMS2 wasn’t.

The patch was released slightly to late for me to try this morning so looking forward to this afternoon, I’m hoping it’s better with the jaggies and a bit of a performance gain on my crystal light.
Im really like TAA/DLSS, in msfs I use dlss and hope eventually reiza can get the new transformer DLSS into ams2.

yeah it's much better on the jaggies up close, but at a distance it's like I'm trying to focus my eyes too much on what's going on. Decided to park it and just use MSAA, GPU upgrade pending anyway :)

I suppose there are use cases where TAA is an improvement but for me the image clarity with MSAA beats the edge softening of TAA. A lot depends on the hardware and resolution so it may be a vast improvement for some. It's always good to have a choice and pick something we individually want/prefer.

Yea it’s very much personal preference, but also the performance gain for some will be really good.

TAA on flat screen with 100 sharpening. MSAA High in VR. Works best for me. YMMV

Yep, same here. MSAA is sharper and performs better. But... I've tried both and I think TAA looks better at night. All the flickering disappears and you can barely see the distance. And MSAA looks better during the day. However, with TAA the shadows look softer, but washed out at a distance.

The update ist a 10/10 but for me but TAA is a little diappointing in VR.
I lose 10% of FPS compared to MSAA medium as described by @TheCasualDriver which is strange since TAA should always be more performant.
AND everytime I turn my head there is half a second without any antialiasing so my picture constantly changes from slightly blurry (okay for me) to extremly sharp and pixelated after moving. strange!!
I use 0 sharpening in the VR software and tried different ingame TAA sharpening settings but it did not help.

edit: Since others seem to be happy it cloud be a problem with my nvidia settings. Feel free to move this to a bug or VR thread.

Has someone tested the TAA with supersampling? I was using MSSA high with 1.5x supersampling in the Oculus Tray Tool. Curious if supersampling could make the TAA better.

I read about this issue somewhere. I think it was disabled VR mirror (the screen projection).

It's not just you. Use MSAA in VR and be happy.
