I understand that the Windows 25h2 update doesn't help against the stutters. Both Windows and nVidia are sending a lot of data (to their own servers) while gaming. That could be the cause of the stutters.
VD says the old driver is for RTX 30- and 40 series. Their latest driver should be used for all other GPUs. If you want helpful tech support, go to their Discord channel.

May sound like a daft question but how do you rollback a driver? I updated my drivers to the most recent before playing. I use oculus link cable to play but still got stutters

    any help appreciated

    Finding micro-stuttering isn't easy.
There are dozens of culprits. Some tracks use more performance, some cars do too, some skins use more VRAM, mods, etc. Different times of day, seasons, Chrome running in the background with 20 tabs, Epic Store (etc.) updates running in the background, etc.

With SimHub, you only need to use a poor configuration and it will stutter; the same applies to Simcrew and other tools.

I once had a button on the JoyToKey ButtonBox stick, causing a 10% CPU usage. Even a USB device that isn't properly plugged in and keeps reconnecting can cause problems.

These trivial things add to the usual bottleneck issues.

Any chance to get information if dynamic foveated rendering is in the pipeline for VR. Furthermore with the implementation of the possibility for DLSS and advanced AA solution like DLAA?
AMS2 is for VR users allreday the best sim out there besides iRacing with has gotten DFR. But for me AMS2 is the best.

I wouldn't be very optimistic about DFR support taking into account we haven't got yet curved screen support to get rid of distortion on super ultra wide curved screen.
Reiza looks to be more focused at releasing DLC when there are several areas in the sim that need to be worked on.

Everybody should try disabling HAGS in the Windows setting. It makes a huge difference and eliminates micro stuttering.

I don't have any problems with hags, in fact, by disabling it, I lose about 10fps. I have Windows 11 and I'm using a 4080 with the latest drivers, everything runs smoothly.

Frametimes are a bit more stable when HAGS is off for me. It used HAGS on was way worse than this screenshot. Both recordings were done in the same time trial settings.

Anyone still use WMR headsets? Espescially Reverb G2?

Since building a new computer and using Oasis Driver I have annoying micro displacements at random intervals. The image shifts for an absolute tiny amount within a fraction of a second. I tried many things, like different USB ports, clearing environment data, changing lighting conditions.

These issues are not the same as bad tracking where the image starts to drift. They are like tracking hickups that can cause nausea.

Seriously considering getting a new headset, because AMS2 has become almost unplayable.

I see the issue also within steam Home, but is less noticeable.

Edit: As I see above, I also tried HAGS off, but this does not help and it eliminates the possibility of using frame generation in other games

Enabling or disabling HAGS to improve perfomance is a hit or miss, it depends on your system, game, etc.

Made me chuckle when I saw sim-youtuber Kireth upload a video called The BEST VR Sim Racing Games Of 2026 and 90% of the comments are "Where AMS2???" :D

With latest update 1.6.9 I noticed that perhaps the manual Sharpening Strength value in the graphicsconfig files doesn't seem to be applied.
To test this I rolled back to previous version 1.6.8.9 and it works again,,,anyone else noticed by this? Makes a big difference in VR for me

Little test with my Quest 2 and 4070 Super. First time I can race 20 cars on track, any car, any track, any condition, and keep 80 FPS with these settings:

Not a single stutter (besides my old HDD where I recorded the gameplay), and gains with headlights on behind my car are massive.

Before this update, I had to keep shadows MEDIUM and track reflections LOW to race with 12 cars with headlights on and rain, and keep 80 FPS, and lower track details and textures to MEDIUM to get rid of major stutters in some sectors of some tracks.

Now, it's amazing. TAA isn't there yeat for VR, but it's in a good track and improving.

I'd like to continue playing it in VR, but the external world view is too closely tied to the vehicle's rotation, causing the outside world to wobble too much horizontally. It's especially noticeable when a hard chassis with a lot of grip slides over the tires.
Are there any known parameters in the config files that can be changed? The standard camera settings aren't helpful, unfortunately.

You can try my camera settings in the vídeo above. With bass shakers, is really good to feel the car and don't get sick. Works like crap in 2D, but it's really good in VR.

    High Speed Shake: OFF

    Head Movement: 0

    Legacy Head Movement: 0

    G-Force Effect Lateral: 75

    G-Force Effect Longitudinal: 50

    G-Force Effect Vertical: 25

Unfortunately, in your video you're only using the options the game offers. It can't be fixed with the standard settings. This problem is especially noticeable on dry roads, with a GT3 car for example with a hard suspension, and on the Nordschleife. Raceroom handles this issue very well, which is why I don't understand why it's happening with AMS2.

That's sounds bad...I've always play with sharpening value, because i have gtx 1070 with R5 5600, medium settings in game...so the only way to sharpen the screen is that config file... :D

Absolutely agree, I hate this effect. A lot of formulas does this. Just cannot drive them.
