    Anyone with VR knows exactly what he's talking about. With the new HUD they reset everything, so all that hard work now getting elements aligned perfectly has to be re-done from scratch. It's laborious to say the least. Flat screen users will never understand how bad it is moving HUD elements in VR. I'd rather have a root canal.

    I’m still having bad stuttering. Tried a lot of fixes and combos but still struggling. My spec is in my signature below.
    Shame as it used to run butter smooth before last major update

    The best way to solve forever this hud in VR issue is go deep into graphics engine and enable move and customize hud elements using the VR controls.

    And this will be nice in menus too. Let's aim really higher.

    One of the biggest issues is that when you try to move the HUD elements in VR, the placeholder boxes don't align with the element, to move an element with the mouse you need to click several centimeters to the left of the actual element to select/move it, also the placement doesn't align with what it shows on your monitor, so for example if you place an element all the way to the right side in your VR headset, on your monitor it will be close to the center of your screen.

    with the "old" HUD you could use a gamepad to select the elements and move the individual elements around, which still isn't great, but at least less frustrating than trying to do it with your mouse.

    with the new "BETA HUD" you can't move around the individual elements at all, all you can do with a gamepad is zoom the entire HUD, and move the full HUD layout around, which is far from ideal.

    the above issues is why i personally just use Openkneeboard with Simhub overlays to at least be able to place the info i need where i want it, which for me is slightly above my eyesight, so i can quickly glance up to see what i need to know, without it obstructing my view in VR.

    ideally there would be 2 configs for the HUD, one for the monitor display, even when the game runs in VR, as this would help a lot for content creators/streamers to show the game HUD without it being in the center of the screen, and a VR layout, which uses the headset boundaries as to where elements can be placed.

    Apologies for my short curt post on this issue. It was down to frustration and I apologise again.
    As others have stated this is a long standing issue but with a little patience and adjustment of my monitor resolution I have got my VR HUD in order and am back to enjoying AMS2 and all it has to offer. This was a small price to pay for the excellent update at Xmas.

    hi,
    when i select taa option, supersampling below taa activates but i cannot select any level for it.
    in december development update list, it says "Some good optimization has been achieved for Temporal Antialiasing since its inclusion in the last update, with a new option added to combine both TAA with Super Sampling AA."
    how cani activate ss with taa, in virtual reallity tab, do i have to supersample?
    supersampling in graphic options has no text (it is activated but i cannot choose anything) (while i choose taa option enabled)

    That's a good question.

    I just want to confirm that it's the same for me. I can't activate both at the same time.

    Maybe it only works without VR, I thought until now.

    I was getting stutters on corners but after switching to borderless everything is smooth. Could be coincidence but I'll take it.

    You could also try to use -vrnomirror in the Steam-properties of AMS2 to disable the 2D view on your monitor completely.

    The SS with TAA only works on a monitor, not in VR as far as i'm aware/have read

    Everything running nice in VR here.

    But Reiza someday maybe can do one simple thing in options:

    DISABLE CARS HEADLIGHTS

    Will be nice to race in rain and night in some tracks with great performance.

    VR looked ok before but now after the 1.6.9 update... holy smokes it is so clear now. Temperall AA works fantastic.

    Before the update, it didn't seam to matter how much bitrate i forced in the oculus debug tool or how high i forced the res of the headset, it was always still a little murky, but now, oh my gosh it is great improvement.

    The new HUD is a bit problematic though, as other have stated. Hope we can work on that. Thanks Reiza team!

    This setting make me "not loss" a lot of FPS with a lot of of cars with headlights on, and it is strange.

    AMS2 is a game that benefits a lot without rendering a mirror image in 2D. Even lower base 2D resolution is good.

    PS: but broke MSAA, before people blame me. We have some issues, but more performance.

    MSAA works normally for me. (4070Rtx , Oculus3, VD)
    TAA actually costs me a little more performance, but it's hardly noticeable. MSAA looks significantly better, though.

    Does this works with native oculus app, or only with SteamVR ?...i have an "old" Rift S :)

    Btw: I hope Reiza can fix the config file to work again, so i dont have to tweak with these.
