Some feedback on the new HUD as a VR user.
I can not move the hud elements over to each side without them disappearing. I have a feeling i might be able to push them further if i put the game in widescreen resolution but have not tested yet.

Also a more curved approach would be great. As of now i don't think i can change the hud elements on the left side to turn in towards me and same for the right side. Unless i'm missing something?

TLDR, my main gripes with hud in VR is that i can not curve the entire hud and i can not move elements over far enough to the sides.

Maybe ams2 uses some older version of OpenVR. I'm not sure if you can replace those with newer or older versions but i think you can

I'd love to get some confirmation that it's my machine having the problem, and not simply that AMS2 isn't made for this workaround with the WMR headsets through the Oasis driver. I'm even planning on reverting my machine back to 23h2.. though I am stuck with Windows 11....

I have zero issues with crashing using oasis and how reverb G2 V1

I do have intermittent stutter/tracking shifts. There is a steam topic on it. No solution to that, but that is not related to AMS

I also have a Reverb G2 and am having zero issues with the Oasis driver, including long sessions. That being said, I have a dedicated sim-rig and run only the required sim-related software (Sim-Hub + Steam + AMS2). So coming from a very clean setup, I can tell you the Oasis driver is working perfectly fine with AMS2 as long as you're running within the limits of your system.

Since I had issues with the Oasis driver (noticeable as micro tracking glitches) I decided to upgrade to a pimax crystal light. It is a very good improvement in image quality compared to reverb G2 and so far the tracking is butter smooth.

Can anyone share some settings using a PCL? I have a 5090.

I am trying resolution scale 1 and upscaling via FSR (default setting 1.3 / 1) I know it is controversial, but it has always been good to me using a reverb G2.

Also using Fixed Foveated rendering at balanced.

So far this gives me 90fps except for night time racing.

I still use MSAA Med, I heard someone say TAA is now serviceable on high resolutions.

    Now that I have a more powerful GPU and bumped up the settings I'm now noticing other things to do with performance with one of them being a bit of an issue;

Whenever there's an AI spin/crash I notice a drop in performance, doesn't matter whether I visually witness the incident or if it happens on the other side of the circuit (yellow flags indicate somethings happened), there's always a momentary drop and stuttering very briefly but sometimes severe enough to become a more problematic issue.

I have tried lowering settings but that doesn't seem to help, checking MSI Afterburners graphs there's no sudden bottle necking that's evident, it's almost like it shouldn't be affecting performance - but it does.

Anyone else notice this? I run at a rock solid 90fps and that never drops in heavy grids/areas of track but the second an AI spins I get this drop off, weird.

Raced in VR last night for first time in 2 weeks. Seem to have a rendering issue that has appeared from nowhere - there is a transparent border around the middle of the screen which persists once you enter a session. It doesn't seem to be there when you first enter into the menu screen, only when you enter a race session. I think it maps to the border of the HUD but appears closer to you in the plane of VR vision. Its really odd and only present in AMS2!

Anyone else experienced it? I have PCL, using OpenXR,Opencomposite, 4090 mostly high settings but using GPU scaling in Pimax to hit 90fps. Changing the scaling didn't solve it.

Lesson learnt - don't try and alter the Contrast or Colours in the Pimax Play client with AMS2. Reverting to default solved it.

After last NVIDIA driver update, I can use all post processing and bloom without any noticeable FPS drops, and run at night with good shadows and cars reflections. Before, I loose a lot in performance. And can go up particles quality to MEDIUM and keep good FPS, in previous drivers go from LOW to MEDIUM induced massive FPS loss.

Maybe hardware crazy prices are doing some magic in basic software optimizations, at least:

AMS2 is good to test these things, because it's an "old" graphics engine that suffered in a lot in drivers "optimizations" in last years.
