Unrelated to the latest update but I have a Meganex and kind of a double vision. Other cars look a bit like double or like a crossed eyed effect.

I did some research and with Project cars 2 and Pimax there seems to be a setting called parallel projection which is causing this. I have this setting as well with the sboys3 driver. Which is enabled by default. But I also tried with disabling it and couldnt solve the issue. Is there something else I can look into?

And the VR performance is now bad for me. 5090 and cant hold FPS anymore at 75Hz and medium settings.

Sounds like your pc is a bit messed up, maybe the latest big Windows update from the other day messed up somewhere. My MeganeX works fine. No change in anything after the latest patch.

Yeah, it seems like performance take a hit with this update. I was driving with V10 Gen 3 and it deeps below 90fps which normally doesn't happen with any formula cars under that graphics settings. So, I KNOW the new cars had something to do with it.

Be sure to check your graphics settings. Some of them got reset for me to very high for no reason.

I didn't see any mention of this in the patch notes but I think they may have fixed this on the cars or at least the new patch has sorted it out.

I've just driven the three cars mentioned above and the change to a lower level of detail isn't now happening in plain sight not too far up the track. The open back of the Ultima GTR Race which was one of the most obvious I've just tried on a couple of tracks and couldn't see it flipping out of the lower detail model.

I stepped here to check if you guys are experiencing the same performance as me.

I got a really good performance boost with this update, but noone can verify this so far here.

I ll double check my settings, which I did, but maybe I missed smth.

    Really happy overall!!!

Edit. I m using the latest hotfix nvidia driver 610.52.

Hi all, I'm thinking of upgrading my quest pro to something more hi res.
I'm running the sim at x2 ss in ott which I think is 3600x3840 and it's running sweet in all conditions on my 4090.
Visuals are really nice close up but diminish rapidly at medium to long distance, so what I'm asking is can anyone that has a bsb, dream air or equivalent confirm that distant objects are clearer at those kinds of resolutions?
In other words, is it worth the extra dough?
    TIA

On higher res headsets the distant object still lose detail but it happens further on down the track. Don't expect cars 500 yards away to look pin sharp as they won't. The extra detail is mostly noticeable in things like chicken wire mesh fences, people in the stands and leaves in trees. When racing I get distracted counting the individual LED's used in brake lights on other cars.
Is it worth an upgrade over a Quest Pro. Yes. A 4090 will be good for all the headsets under 3000x3000 per eye resolution. Go above that and you'll need a GPU upgrade.

edit: Just dug out my Pico4. If you can upgrade the headset then do it. It felt like I'd gone back to my HTC Vive.

I've got a Super after the Q3. Visuals are amazing indeed, big step up. Comfort is a giant step down... always wonder if I should've got the BSB2

My VR has suffered a backwards step after another small update today. My spec is decent enough. Don’t know if it’s the update, the quest 3, or the nvidia driver

    @Selcuk
"""And the VR performance is now bad for me. 5090 and cant hold FPS anymore at 75Hz and medium settings."""
I get more FPS with a Quest 2 and an RTX 2080 Ti that's slightly overclocked.
all options on medium, track and car on ultra, ss 1,5, resolution 150%, with VD wired,
so the update iss not guilty.

Take a look at my post from May 18, on page 230.

    VR-problem!
As I switched from my old Logitech G27 wheel to a Fanatec DD Pro 8nm wheel and had massive problems to install the Fanatec app I managed to install the old Fanatec driverV474 (not the new Fanatec app) and now I can use the Fanatec wheel (DD Pro 8nm) and it’s indeed night and day compared to my old G27 but now I have the next (huge) problem. I can only start AMS2 (original or beta) in 2D. Every attempt to start it in VR (and VR is normally the only way I play it) immediately crashes with a bugsplat message. Now I would have FFB but can’t play it at all in VR anymore :-(.

Don’t know if it has to do with my new Fanatec wheel but at least it was the last thing I changed before AMS2 started to refuse launching in VR.

Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Have you verified your files on Steam? Also if you only usually shutdown your PC do a restart instead. For some reason restart gives you a cleaner start than a straight shutdown then starting up again.

    Also try changing USB ports.

I had a random bugsplat recently when switching out some kit and I was switching stuff between ports. Maybe related maybe not but I have a DD1 and some other fanatec kit but I’m running the app now.

Will try but as other racing games (like AC Evo) suddenly also won’t launch anymore since I‘ve installed my new Fanatec wheel I fear it’s not missing AMS2 files…
Other (silly) question: what happens with the bugsplat I reported (to whom? Will I get an answer?)?

If other things aren't starting either, and you haven't changed anything else, I'd also suspect the USB port.

I'd also suggest you try plugging into the different USB ports.
There were also problems with gtr2 due to the limited number of USB ports.
For that reason, it was better to plug the pedals into the base.
Connect the mouse and/or to the PS2 port, if available; this also saves a USB port.
You can save one USB port by connecting the Quest directly to the router via an Ethernet cable,
in combination with Virtual Desktop, it's the best solution anyway.

Is the "Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM)" option affect VR performance ?

    Edit:
What particle settings affect FPS ?
    Particle Level, or Density ?
