The game does not say this but PARTICLE DETAIL affects the quality of the skybox. If set to LOW it will be a pixelated mess. I recommend this setting at MEDIUM and never lower, especially in VR the difference in quality between Low and Medium is massive and performance difference is really none.

Thanx, but if the USB port (where I plugged in my new Fanatec wheel) would be the problem why does everything work fine in 2D in AMS2 and only VR mode crashes the game when trying to launch?

It might be because they use the same USB controller and are overloading it. Just try using a different USB port—for example, switch between 2.0 and 3.0—or unplug the steering wheel. Alternatively, Fanatec drivers could be causing the USB devices to be detected in the wrong order.

Your hardware is fine; the USB port isn't the problem.
    Windows is the problem.
In what order does Windows boot up the ports? That can lead to problems.
    Just give it a try.
I also use a Fanatec CSL, Formula 2.0 with magnetic paddle shifters and V3 pedals.
    And a Quest 2, too.
I had already pre-ordered the CSL DD four months before its release.
    like "first edition"
and since then, everything is working fine for me.
and it feels great, too—my old G27 can't hold a candle to it.
and now with the latest app, drivers, and firmware.
Not just on one computer, and not just on one Windows(10/11)
and not just AMS2, ...............GTR2, ACC, ACE, RaceRoom, etc.............................................
I cannot confirm the negative opinions about Fanatec that are being spread.

Hi, is it possible, like I can do on other games, to have a black monitor when I am in VR? And if so, how? Thanks

I found out that my bugsplats when trying to launch in VR were related to the fact that suddenly my OpenXR trick with the 2 DLL-files I simply had to copy into the game directory to bypass SteamVR doesn’t work anymore. When deleting those files and starting normal with Oculus-mode (with my Quest3 via Link cable) it works again but I lose a lot of FPS.
Can anyone confirm this or has a solution? Maybe I need updated dllˋs (but where can I get them? I had my 2 DLL files from a post in this forum a long time ago and since then they worked and gave me a huge fps-gain. Only after AMS2 updates I had to copy them again and then it worked again, but not this time…

It still works for me. Even ancient DLLs from this forum.

Technically, yes, via the launch parameters. But then you have to navigate the menus using a gamepad, and you can't reach every element that way. At the same time, the benefit in AMS2 is apparently very minimal.
