It’s definitely better than Pimax’s morion smoothing. But I see a little bit of deg in image quality compared to using it in msf2024, where it works very well. But it’s smooth. Found it to be very jittery and unstable in ATS and ETS2

    Hi all,

So I picked up a Reverb for some vr racing, but after two days of tweaking I still do not have a clear and crisp image.
Overall I would say the image is...fine? It's a bit blurry but that is to be expected I guess. But what's keeping me from playing is a constant light heat haze/blur effect, especially on further away textures. It is quite subtle, but really tiring on the eyes. I pretty much tried every aliasing settting with opencomposite, amd software and the game, but I can't seem to get a non-moving picture quality.
It is mostly bad on fences and straight lines, which is, again, to be expected. But it also plays before my eyes on the road itself, like heat is on top of the image. I have all stuff like heat haze off.

    My setup:
    Amd 6800xt
    5700xrd
    16gb ram 3200

Is it even possible to just get a clear and crisp image? The effect is not on my 2d monitor, only in my headset.
Any people with likewise specs, or the samen headset, that can share there settings? Thanks a million!

Edit: To add, I do find it pretty easy to get a stable 90hz, but the flickering/hazy/blurry effect is the thing i have to get rid off.

If by "heat shimmer" you are referring to issues with anti-aliasing, you could try using the in-game temporal anti-aliasing combined with a sufficient degree of supersampling—provided that you can maintain a stable 90 frames per second while doing so.

Foveated Rendering with Eyetracking using Pimax Crystal Super? Please add DLSS injection for AMS2 as well. So we could use DLAA instead of MSAA x8.

Thanks, but it's been working in AMS2 since May ;-) still, between then and now it's improved so I'd wait for the next release. Not long now.

The youtube channel is new, so I get why a lot of people would think this is a new app.

Bloody hell ..has anyone figured out how to move the hud elements in VR ? I know about the num pad keys moving the whole lot but i need to move a few individual elements like my gear data is cut in 1/2 on the right side of the screen and I can't grab it to move ..it's so random, sometimes it grabs but won't move but to even grab it i have to put my curser in some random place far away from the element like all the way on the left side of the screen, then it highlights it but instantly lets go if i click it to turn off or on or try to re position it .. jezzzz..lol im using a pimax C super in steamVR for ams2 because it just works without the hassle..

Looked at this guide. It mentions a setting shadow maps: track only. This option does not exist?

Anyone confirm that shadow performance has been improved recently as stated in the guide?

    Hello,
I have been playing AMS2 in VR on a motion simulator for years, and recently, motion compensation through OpenXR Motion Compensatin (OXRMC) is not launched anymore when I start AMS2.

OXRMC is still working and launches properly on startup with my other sims (DirtRally2.0, ACEVO, ACRally, EA WRC).

My setup : Pimax dream air in Pimax EVO with sboys3 driver + opencomposite, OpenXR runtime set to steamVR and OXRMC layer activated in steamVR.
The Rig is a Prime Motion XP, piloted by DR Sim Manage v1.4.2
Every piece of software in the equation is up to date.
I tried uninstalling & reintalling everything, including AMS2, with no success.

Anyone has an idea about what is wrong? Thank you in advance.

I always have to start it manually ( Ctrl+Ins ), if there's a way to automate this would be great

If you look at the OpenXR-MotionCompensation.ini file located in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\OpenXR-MotionCompensation, you will see that there are some parameters at the begining of the file.
Set autoactivate to 1 and it will launch at game startup.
Set auto_activate_delay to X seconds to hear the countdown before activation (it helps knowing if everything is starting noramlly). The countdown can be hashed or irregular, as there is a lot happening when you start your game.

Since the last steam update, I can't use the mouse through my VR glasses. The pointer is very slow and way behind my moves. Also some information is missing while in cockpit eg when I change the FFB force. Works fine on the screen. Anybody else has this problem?

RESOLVED: I was using a BETA version of Steam VR and that caused this.
