Regarding the head-phones (if) usb-connection, one trick I use to help with such issues is to wrap a bit of aluminum duct-tape around the USB-connector. It serves to stabilize the connector in the USB-socket and should provide a more reliable ground connection.

I've been using this for years with my steering-wheel usb-cables where constant movement can cause frequent dis-connects.

Where surround head-phones are concerned, I've not read any reviews where the surround effects are particularly more effective than standard head-phones.

I find the off-ear head-phones spatial-effects (integrated into the Valve Index VR set) to be very, very good, with the best 3D sound characteristics I've experienced to date. Not sure if there is anything else that uses similar tech in bespoke head-phones, though.

seriously dude if you want decent spatial sound, get a pair of open back headphones. It really is that simple.

And if you want to play around with virtual surround you can just add dolby atmos to windows through the microsoft store and use your dt770s. You can even trial it for free first. Obviously it's your money and you're free to spend it as you like but if it were me I would return those JBL's immediately I was shocked by the price of them. They make some decent low/mid tier IEMs but that's it. As far as 'gaming' headsets go Astro's and probably Beyerdynamic Tygr's are the only really decent options out there. honestly. I would say the Astro's are overpriced as well for what they are. So yeah mid tier open back and an inline mic is your best bet.

And if you decide to keep them and EQ them check out Oratory1990 he may have made a decent profile for them using EqualizerAPO

Interesting, in Australia I can only find the 681 without the b, are they still the same?
At $39 I'm certainly keen to try out these for my kids and maybe grab a pair for myself if they are good.

These are $39 aud and as I don't need a mic I decided to order a set after doing this ratings comparison to my current headset. Look forward to testing these out.

    Hi!
681 and 681B are not the same:

681B having a more "flat curve" in tonal balance and are open HPs, that means they are not semi-closed or closed around the ear.

681 are also very good headphones but semi-closed which is "light" enough for gaming and isolation form sonic emission.

    cheers
    Andy
