[WORKAROUND] AMS2 - Incompatibility with Quad Monitor Setups

I'm with AMD but it's the same thing, and then it doesn't matter who is the culprit, I have a problem that I would like to resolve but I've tried everything and it's frustrating, and if anyone has any ideas to make my 4th monitor work I'm interested

 

Sounds like AMS2 really doesn't work well with multi-monitor setup. I have some different issue but the core seems to be the same...

Well, on the one hand, good to see this thread got some traction and I wasn't the only one with problems...
On the other hand, having seen a video from SimRacing604 on some improvements on the topic of the triple screen options committing changes in the menu as part of one of the 1.6 updates I was curious
Sadly, issues persist - if I enable my 4th (top) display at any time (before AMS2 launches or while it's open) then the app shrinks itself down to a single screen (while maintaining the triple screen aspect ratio/resolution in-game so everything is squished) - given I regularly use my 4th screen for other apps (Discord, browser windows etc.) to see them in the background while driving this is a frustrating obstacle that I hope is core to the Madness Engine (which sounds vaguely right to me from my recollections with Project CARS 2)

 

Have just been able to load in and get this far also, the only thing I'd changed since last trying and posting about the issue is changing the "ForceTripleScreen" value in the XML file to true

Edit: And exactly the same thing for me as t1ny, after closing the game and restarting it while my 4th monitor was active, AMS2 only opened on a single screen - the XML file for TripleScreenSettings was edited after I re-launched the game and it changed the "AllowTripleScreen" value to false automatically

 

same for me my 4th monitor is no longer possible to use on Ams2, I have the same problem as you and there is no solution until Reiza rewrites his script, we are stuck and it's a shame

 

Will play around with DisplayMagician and creating a profile to automatically disable my 4th monitor when I want to launch AMS2 and also re-enable it as the game is launching, will let you know how it goes - first time was a success using DM v2.7.2

 

J'ai déjà tout essayé avec Magician, ça fait la même chose, eyefinity ou pas, le jeu veut absolument être sur un écran étiré quand on allume ce 4 moniteur

 

Ah Eyefinity (so AMD GPU) - so your monitors are setup so they appear as a single screen to Windows? Maybe that creates different results then, I'm using a Nvidia GPU and I'm not using Surround and DisplayMagician has worked every time I've used it (about 5 or 6 times now) since setting it up

Edit: Well I spoke too soon despite it working with no problems over the past 2 days, all of a sudden today when using the DisplayMagician profile which re-enables my 4th screen as the game is loading up the menus the game is being squished back onto my centre screen only...

 

hélas j'ai tout essayé activé ou désactivé eyefinity displaymagician configuré ou non, à chaque fois que je connecte le 4ème écran c'est comme toi, et c'est comme ça depuis 2-3 semaines maintenant, avant ça fonctionnait très bien avec le 4ème moniteur. peux-tu m'envoyer tes paramètres displaymagician ?

I bought an adapter to go from HDMI to USB on my PC, nothing happens, my PC does not detect anything, do you have a tip or something to look at? Thank you

 

I had to download actual driver first, then install and restart PC. After that i had to plug the adapter in and it worked.

-disconnect the cable from your 4th monitor
-triple screen activate eyefinity (amd adrenaline) by activating "gpu scaling"
-restart the pc
-launch ams2, in the settings set the screen resolution to (I have three 32") 7620x1440
-restart the game
-connect your 4th screen and that's it, you can place it wherever you want in Windows.

In any case, disconnect the cable each time you launch ams2.

To do only on ams2, the other simulations there is no problem having 4 monitors.
