Thank you for this very interesting thread. It would also be interesting if we could see (as an alternative information) a result weighted by ranking (for example: tracks which have been voted on first place would get 10 points, tracks on second place get 9 points and so on….). Would be interesting if we would get the same tracks in top 10 and which one would be on first place…

 

But then you would have to redo the entire voting as I am sure most people just listed the tracks in no paticular order, just as they came into their mind.

 

Yes, maybe. Didn’t say it’s worth the effort, just that this kind of weighted ranking would also be interesting.
Maybe it’s just me who automatically puts the most wanted track on number 1 in a top 10 list…

 

Mike, you may create a new thread that refers to this one and that has a different premise, if you want

(Example premise: "Let's say Reiza has already decided to make the top 9 locations from Gabriel's thread + 1 community choice. Out of the less popular locations that people have voted for in that thread, what are your top 5 locations that you think deserves the final 10th spot?" Then you can do a basic ranked-choice voting with only 1 winner. Or you can read up on election theory and come up with your own cutoff that allows for multiple ranked-choice votes to make the cut…)

I think @Gabriel "Pai" Legnini found a nice compromise when making the premise for this thread: Forcing us to come up with 10 tracks at once and then have it "set in stone" requires us to think things through instead of just posting our latest favorite track obsession, and not having the pressure to rank our own tracks lowers the bar for those who have decidophobia, it reduces the likelyhood of people asking for Gabriel to re-arrange their ranking several times afterwards, and during the initial growth of the thread it also reduces tactical voting.

 

Another derivative thread idea, but one that doesn't address Mike's ranking wish:
Freeze the top 5 results from this thread, then take the next 20 tracks on the list and make a poll that allows you to vote for up to 5 of those locations. (forum polls are limited to 20 choices, IIRC)

With some great endurance content, Automobilista 2's biggest glaring omission is LeMans. Sim racing heaven is racing Group C cars around Circuit de la Sarthe in the rain at night. Automobilista 2 is brilliantly placed to represent that

With Reiza announcing Indianapolis in their latest dev update, we now have a slight problem in our hands, as that makes the legendary track not a valid option anymore (it was stated at the OP that tracks already announced and in development would not count for this game).

So...what do I do? Should I tag all 28 voters of Indianapolis and ask them to change it with another track?
