Sorry @Russell Hodgson to repeat my message about the "parsing" problem and not being able to neither apply nor save any Z1 settings.
Is there a solution insight? Unfortunately at the moment this great tool is pretty much useless ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you delete the referenced file, does that fix the issue?

Version 2020.4 of the Z1 Dashboard is now available! A lot of work has gone into this version to make the Z1 software more accessible to people around the world. It now supports multiple languages - you can even create your own language pack!

The Z1 Dashboard can now be displayed in any language.

The Z1 Dashboard settings dialog can also be displayed in the chosen language, making the Z1 Dashboard easier to use.

The graphics engine has been updated to Direct 2D, providing better performance and improved graphics, and allowing us to pursue many new features moving forward that we've been wanting to do for a while.

All Track Map dashboards have been updated to take advantage of the new Direct 2D graphics engine.

The standings dashboards have been updated with the new Direct 2D engine. All driver, track and car names now display accents and non-English characters properly.

You can now specify if you want the dashboard to flash the background or the LEDs when you reach either (or both) the rev limiter and shift point.

The Car 4 tab has been renamed External LEDs. We've added more options, and now also support 3rd party device RGB USB LEDs.

We are also introducing our latest telemetry file format, the zodx and zodxl formats. These let us capture more data, and provide for more features moving forward.

New users can download the demo here:
    Z1 Dashboard

Existing users can get the update here:
    Z1 Dashboard | My Dashboard

Here is the full list of release notes:
    * The Z1 Dashboard is now a 64 bit application.

    * The Z1 Server is now a 64 bit application.

    * The graphics engine has been updated to use Direct2D for the garage screens, and some of the dashboards (standings dashboards, relative dashboards, track map dashboards). This allows for better performance and display, as well as allowing for names with accented characters or non-English characters to be displayed properly in driver, car and track names. It also paves the way for new features that will allow for more flexible dashboard designs.

    * Support for different languages. The Z1 Dashboard can now be displayed in any language. Currently the languages included with the installation are English, French, Italian and Spanish. When you first run the Dashboard you will be asked for your preferred language. If you want to change the language after that, go to the General tab of the Settings dialog and select the desired language from the Language drop down.

You can also create you own language pack for use with the Z1 Dashboard. To do so look in the documents/z1dashboard/languages folder. There is a file called 'Template.zol'. Make a copy of this file in the language folder and name it after the language you are creating. Then open the newly created file in Notepad. The file contains XML. You specify the name and locale of the language in the name attribute of the Language line: <Language name="the language name goes here" locale="locale string goes here">.

Then in each subsequent line, enter in the appropriate translation of the text in the key attribute in the translated attribute: <Phrase key="words" translated="translation here"/>.

Note that not everything is translated at this time. For example, tooltips are still in English. We are working on getting these translated for a future release.

    * A new telemetry data format, zodx and zodxl, is now being used with the Z1 software. This new format allows for more flexibility moving forward with regard to what data channels can be recorded. It also lets us include driver, car and track names that include non-English characters. Note this new format is not backwards compatible and users of Z1 Analyzer versions prior to version 2020.4 will not be able to read it.

    * The track map files for iRacing are no longer included in the installer. Instead they will be downloaded from our server when they are needed. This allows us to have a smaller installer file, resulting in a faster download for you. In addition it allows us to place track maps for new tracks on our server which will then be downloaded to your computer when you need them. (Note this is currently only for iRacing as the other sims create their track maps automatically when you are driving.)

    * You no longer have to be connected to a sim for the Z1 Server to start a connection for Internet streaming.

    * If you change tracks or cars in a sim and the Z1 Server is transmitting data to the internet streaming service, it will automatically update with the new car and track. Previously you have to manually disconnect and reconnect for this to happen.

    * The Z1 Dashboard is now compatible with various third party USB LED devices. It will auto recognize the device and do an LED check if it is compatible.

    * The Car 3 Tab in the Settings dialog has been renamed "Shift Lights" as this is more accurate.

    * The Car 4 Tab in the Settings dialog has been renamed "External LEDs" as this is more accurate.

    * The External LEDs tab has color options for the assigned LEDs. These only work if your external LEDs use RGB LEDs and not older single color LEDs. Click on the color circle to select the color you want for each LED.

    * The LED Brightness option has been moved to the External LEDs tab. Previously it was in the General tab.

    * The LED brightness drop down now enables the external LEDs in real time so you can more easily determine the desired brightness.

    * Reorganized the car 1 tab to group items together better.

    * There are now options for settings both a rev-limiter point and shift point. These are in the Car 1 tab. They replace the previous Flash At option. If you set the Auto Rev Limiter to Yes then these values are set automatically by the Z1, based on the sim where possible. Settings Auto Rev Limiter to No allows you to enter user defined values for these two options.

    * There are now options to flash either the screen background or screen shift lights when the rev-limiter or shift point is reached. These drop downs are in the Car 1 tab. They are both called 'Flash' and are located just below the Rev Limiter and Shift Point text fields. You can choose between three speeds for flashing the background of shift lights, or turning them on constantly, or doing nothing.

    * There is a new color swatch in the Car 3 tab called 'Shift Point'. This lets you choose the color of the background when the shift point is reached. This is the color that will be used if you have the background set to flash when you reach the shift point.

    * The External LEDs tab contains the options to flash the LEDs when you reach the rev limiter and/or shift point. You can also specify the color of the LEDs if your setup uses RGB LEDs.

    * There is now a Hertz Target setting in the General settings tab. This sets the hertz frequency that the Z1 will request data form the sim. The default is 60 hertz. Higher numbers will result in higher CPU usage. Also note that the FPS target will be the lower of the FPS and Hertz target.

We thank all our beta testers for their hard work.

We've just released version 2020.4.3. This fixes some bugs and includes a few minor updates.

The list of releases notes is:
    * Fixed a bug on the garage stats screen where the right side numbers could appear half off screen.

    * Updated USBD480_lib.dll to fix issues with the HRS Z1 Pro display not working properly.

    * Fixed a bug where the buttons on the monitor window (for settings, etc) would not work if an LCD Screen was in use and the sim was running and the driver was not in the car.

    * Fixed a bug where the Codemasters F1 track names would not show up properly.

    * Added the ability to turn the Hertz target off. This is the first option in the drop down if you wish to turn this option off. Turning it off may work better for some sims, like Codemasters F1 series, as they have a built in hertz target.

We've changed how the installer is packaged. This should fix the false positive that some virus programs were showing.

    Thanks Russell,

    I have 2 feedback items:

    a) Installation of Z1 Dashboard used to default to where ever the user previously installed it on their PC. It has reverted back to storing in teh defauly location of C:\Program Files..... For the next release, can you please change that installation setting so it automatically tries to install any new version into the same folder as the previous install.

    b) This version Z1 Dashboard has really improved my experience with AMS2. This is because in previous versions each Z1 Dashboard window consumed around 8% to 11% CPU, and as I ran 4 x Z1 Dashboards concurrently, my i7-8700K CPU ran above 95% playing AMS2, because the game itself consumed a lot of CPU.

With this new version, the first Z1 Dashboard consumes about the same, but each subsequent Z1 Dashboard consumes only around 2% CPU and that makes a huge difference when running multiple Dashboard instances in parallel.

Now my CPU load is only around 80% when playing AMS2, so that is better. Good work!

We did this on this version because of t he switch to 64 bit from 32 bit. If we had let you install in the same location as previous installs we would have had a lot of people installing a 64 bit app in the 32 but app folder.

The next version will install in the previous install folder by default.

Glad to hear that. We did some work on improving CPU usage in this version. There is a new setting for Hertz target in the general settings tab. This lets you choose how often the sim is polled for new data. A lower hertz will use less CPU, with the default being 60 hertz. So you can adjust this to get the desired balance of CPU vs data.

I am running version 2020.4.7 of the Z1 Dashboard and I notice it is always one lap off when announcing laps for Automobilista 2. It would appear to be a 1 relative versus a 0 relative problem. It announces lap 0 of 10 instead of lap 1 of 10. Perhaps they count zero relative in the shared memory area? Just a thought.

Version 2021.1 of the Z1 Dashboard is now available!

This new version brings some big changes:

The new Z1 Designer lets you create your own dashboards for use with the Z1 Dashboard
    [IMG]

    Compatibility with Dirt Rally 2
    [IMG]

    Compatibility with Automobilista 2
    [IMG]

    Compatibility with Project Cars 3
    [IMG]

19 New Data Channels are now recorded by the Z1 Dashboard
    [IMG]

Browser Streaming (previously web streaming) is now easier to use than ever.

New users can get the demo here:
    Z1 Dashboard

Existing users can get the update here:
    Z1 Dashboard | My Dashboard

Here is the full list of release notes:
    * Custom Dashboards: You can now create your own dashboards. Please see the release notes for the Z1 Designer v2021.1 for details.

    * Automobilista 2 is now officially supported. To connect to this sim turn on the Shared Memory option within Automobilista 2, and set it to Project Cars 2. Then in the Z1 Dashboard Network tab make sure the Madness Engine option is checked and set the drop down to Automobilista 2.

    * Dirt Rally 2 is now officially supported. To connect to this sim you will need to edit the file 'hardware_settings_config'. This file is located in Documents\My Games\Dirt Rally 2.0\hardwaresettings. We suggest using Notepad for this. Open the file in Notepad and set the udp entry line to: <udp enabled="true" extradata="3" ip="127.0.0.1" port="20777" delay="2" />

Then in the Z1 Dashboard Network tab make sure the Codemasters option is checked and set the drop down to Dirt Rally 2. Note this sim lacks a lot of data provided by other sims. There is no data on competitors. See this page to see what data is available for the car: Z1 Software | Data Channels By Sim

The Z1 Dashboard connects to the sim when you are in the car and press the handbrake before the session starts. This is because of the way in which DR2 sends out data.

    * Project Cars 3 is now officially supported. You can use either the Shared Memory or UDP option. To connect to this sim, select either Project Cars 3 or Project Cars 3 UDP from the Madness Engine drop down in Z1 Dashboard's Network tab. In the sim if you are using shared memory, set the shared memory option to Project Cars 2, and set the UDP Mode to Off. If you are using UDP, then set the UDP Mode to 1 and the UDP Protocol Version to Project Cars 2, and set the Shared Memory option to No.

    * Browser streaming: This feature has been renamed to 'Browser Streaming'. In previous versions it was called 'Web Streaming'. We believe the new name is more inline with that the feature actually does, which is to stream the Z1 Dashboard to a browser. In addition when this feature is activated a message will appear on the 'Waiting For Connection' screen letting you know it is active, and what address the browser should be set to. This makes it easier to ensure you have the correct URL entered into your browser.

    * New Data Channels: Wheel lateral patch velocity, Wheel longitudinal patch velocity, Wheel lateral ground velocity, Wheel longitudinal ground velocity, Wheel toe, Velocity X, Velocity Y, Velocity Z, Brake Bias, ABS Setting, Traction Control 1 Setting, Traction Control 2 Setting, Front Anti-Roll Bar, Rear Anti-Roll Bar, Left Weight Jacker, Right Weight Jacker, Differential Entry, Differential Middle and Differential Exit are now recorded for the sims that supply them. See this page for which sims supports these new data channels: Z1 Software | Data Channels By Sim

    * There is now an option to specify how driver names are displayed. The two choices are 'First Last' and 'Last, First'. This is available in the Display settings tab. This option effects all lists of drivers and the track maps.

    * The Show Flags option has been updated. It now lets you choose between showing, blue flags, yellow flags, both blue and yellow flags, or no flags. This is a car specified option located in the Car 1 tab.

    * The screen that displays in-car adjustments (brake bias, traction control, etc), will now flash its border for all events that would cause the standard dashboard background to flash. (This would be events like hitting redline, shift points, blue flags, etc.)
