You are incapable of ticking the box in your Fanatec control panel?

Others already gave this tip without acting like assholes. And I already thanked them.

And still it's a bug in AMS2 that you can't change the assignment.

You shouldn't have suggested you were giving up on a game because of this issue (that you don't know how to use your own hardware). If you wanted to ask for advice in a technical thread, you could have (and it works in all games, not just AMS 2). You decided to play it as exasperated here in the official release thread, so which of us is the asshole?

First of all: it's a bug in AMS2 that you can't change the assignment. I was disappointed to once again run into a bug. I'm sorry if my suggestion that I leave it alone for a while hurt your delicate feelings. You seem like a fanboy that takes everything about a sim personally.

Second: no, I didn't had noticed that checkbox as I've never needed it. I didn't know this was a criminal offence. I'm sure you know everything about everything. At least you think you do.

Third: it's still a workaround for AMS2 not working as intended.

Fourth: the question was already answered and I thanked for the information.

Fifth: others were capable of giving me this information without acting like an assholes. They were helping me. You were insulting me. It's morons like you that make me want give up this title even more.

    conclusion:
    we need a bug fix
    and
we need abillity to assign more than one button to a function w/o use of external apps like joy2key

That would helpful especially if there are no profiles for control settings. Fanatec seems to have this (very useful) option but I guess users of some other brands may have difficulties.

    No, it's not a bug, it's a (lack of a) feature.

Please list which sims have this capability and which ones do not. If AMS 2 is the only one without, I apologize profusely. I'll save you some effort: the vast majority do not have this capability, which is why Fanatec and other hardware manufacturers have their own solutions. There are also independent button mapping softwares available for those who have hardware with less advanced control panels.

In a perfect world, all sims could do this. In the real world they do not.

Speaking of delicate feelings: you are the one who apparently couldn't handle the situation like an adult (by researching how to deal with this incredibly common issue that simmers have had to deal with for decades now) and proposed stomping away until the devs fixed it to your satisfaction. Look in the mirror.

So you didn't even bother to read what my problem was. You thought I disrespected your precious sim by saying I might again take a pause from it and rushed to insult me. You didn't even bother to read the thread onwards and see that it was answered.

What I was complaining was: I go to controls and map my sequential shifter to gear up/down. In the menu the button numbers change from 4 & 5 to 29 & 30 (if recall correctly). Regardless of this only paddles work. So somehow it uses only default regardless of what has been mapped afterwards. This I called a bug. You seem to think this is a "lacking feature".

What I WASN'T complaining was that there is no way to map multiple buttons to gear up/down.

Now can you give me some pointers to "this incredibly common issue that simmers have had to deal with for decades now"? Where can I read from similar problem in other sims? That mapping different buttons to different functions doesn't actually map them? Please tell me, I'm interested! I want to do my research!
