What do you mean by "automatic steering angle"? You are talking about the car setup or your real steering wheel peripheric?

And what about "power is too hard and too big in the curves"? It's the power of the engine, the differentials, the FFB or the Universe Synergy?

Tyre life is one of the things we mortals can actually directly measure against real life. For example, F-Ultimate Gen 2 soft tyres are almost never used in race trim IRL because they die away very very fast.

Considering Leclerc, Verstappen, etc, are infinitely better at managing tyres than any of us are and will ever be, we definitely should not make the softs last long. Or if we do make them last long, then our race pace should be waaaay off because that would mean we are not even close to the limit.

In my opinion the current wear system (authentic, 2x, 3x, 5x) is perfect. It is up to Reiza to accomplish the very complex task of making the best use of the tyre model to match reality.

Edit: só uma dica, não me leve a mal pq eu tb não sou perfeito no inglês, mas fell = passado de cair, feel = sentir :D

Hi! I mean that I can't set the steering angle to automatic on the base. The steering reacts far too late on automatic, so I have to turn it down manually. And I think the tire physics of the Lancer need to be improved because something is wrong

Valew, bro... corrigi o meu lapso anglogramatical rs.

About the tires, it's not that simple because even if we know the real tires specs (that is something that even the tire manufactures had a limited knowledge, specially with F1 tires, that are used as a laboratory to actually discover those specs... in an old F1 tire model, these specs could be more complete and precise, but in a car as the FUG2, it's the lab version).

Even if we knew the specs, them come in the game other variants as the asphalt specs, the track overall particularities (just remember F1 2005 race in Indianapolis, when all Michelin cars simple withdrew because their tires couldn't deal with the track load), the car setups (that will force the tire more in a way or another) and even the driver's stile and driving pace.

We simply don't know it all and FEELS (rs) impossible to guess it even going full scientific about. So, IMHO, is more important that the simulator deliver a tire model with a coherent logic than try to match the RL performance... that is why it's important to allow players to modify as much as possible in the simulation, as tire wear, damage and etc.

Even them: Before folks try to guess about that stuff comparing their performance ingame to what happens in RL, try also to understand if they are using the tires as drivers do in the real car. Because tire management is a huge deal in real life, but I really don't see virtual folks caring a sht about it lol

Seems like you have a technical issue between your steering wheel and the game. I don't see any issue with the Lancer and even if it's not already received the new tire models, it's one of the best cars since AMS2 first release. So, I think that is better that you go to the "bug report topic" (Bug Reports - Automobilista 2 (Read the Opening Post)) and report it. Maybe post it in your native language and let Reiza's folks deal with the translation if must).

Thanks for the tip with the error thread. Didn't know there was a thread like this. We disagree with the Lancer for me there is a problem. Have a nice evening

I actually like the Lancers at the moment. Did a default setup, random grid league with them a while back and they were a blast.

Still wishing we had the TME tho... Just saying.

I believe that he is talking about an issue that happens with some wheel drivers that don't automatically match the ingame steering radius with the steering wheel's driver and must adjust it manually to each car wheel rotation. Or maybe there is some other setting interfering with it all. I had it with my Logitech DFGT after some Win10 update... before it, the Logitech driver simply didn't worked and I uninstalled it and let the Windows itself deal with the peripheral, what worked until the system update. Them the Windows didn't even recognizes that there is a DFGT there, so I needed to reinstall the Logitech's driver and to create a profile only to AMS2 (as I need to do now with every game that uses this peripheric) with some very specific settings (with AC, ACC, RR and BNG I had to figure what each game needed to simply detect my DFGT).

But he could have being experiencing another issue... better leave it to the experts to figure out.

I gathered that, I wasn't commenting on his issue, just saying I like the car...

Yeah, in general sim racers who do public lobbies (usually useless 5 lappers) or iRacing-like short races (length < 30 mins) do not do tyre management at all, since there is no point in those cases anyway.

However it is not true to "proper" races, like in league events where races are longer (usually about 1h). I've more than once benefited from taking care of my tyres, even on "less advanced" tyre models as in AMS1. While most were doing 2 stoppers I could manage to do a 1 stopper and get track position, usually netting me 1 or 2 positions compared if I followed the 2 stop strategy.

Even managed to benefit from it in an Indycar shorter race at Long Beach (25 laps). I was pursuing the guy 1-2s ahead of me the whole race, but was actively nursing my tyres (and saving P2P) to strike at the last 5 laps or so, while he was seemingly pushing his tyres much more than I. Granted, at the final stint of the race he was sliding around because his tyres were dead, while I still had very good grip. Managed to overtake him on the penultimate lap (if I'm not mistaken) thanks to that. That was in rF2, where it is also supposed to have a "less complex" tyre model than AMS2.

So in proper long races, tyre management definitely is key to a good race, or at least presents itself as a realistic alternative than pushing everything 100% of the time till the end.

I still have not been able to do the same in AMS2, but mostly because its near impossible to have a successful league going on. At least all those which I joined were plagued by MP issues. Supposedly, once AMS2 tyre model is perfected (and MP is fixed so I can league race to try it...), then managing tyres in AMS2 will be even more powerful than in AMS1 and rF2.

I reinforced it more to try to help the lad that because of your post.

Just drove it a little to see if there weren't anything broke by the last patch, but the car is as good as always.

The only thing that I dislike about the Lancer Cup is that the Lancer RS is way faster than the R (just made 8s difference in Spa). Why don't Reiza break it (and Porsche Cup) into two different categories, as done with Copa Classic B and FL?

But do you think that AMS2 tires are too short lived as people are saying? Sorry if you already commented about it and I didn't see your post.

    ------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Just to be registered, the Lancer RS is alright:

I wasn't trying to discredit the previous person, just saying I like the car. I can like a car without any need for explanation or need to comment what is probably a setup/FFB setting issue. Any disrespect you think I meant is completely in your own mind, because I didn't intend any. I'm not here to stoke toxicity.

With that out of the way, yes, the Lancer Cup is pretty unbalanced, as are several classes in the game. The F3's have a similar problem with the 301 being way off of the pace. A bit of a shame too, given it's fun to row gears on the H-pattern Lancer.

Not really. Tyres really vary from class to class, as Reiza has stated they are working on them.

For the FUG2 for example, they last for far too long.

If I'm not mistaken, the F301 is supposed to be that way. During the old F3 Brasil races, even though the F301 and F309 raced together, they scored as separated classes. Not sure why Reiza decided to put them together on the same class other than to indicate they race together, even though they don't really compete with each other.

Does F3 Brasil still exist in any form? I know there was a 2017 season but I can't seem to find any season past that
(I'm totally not asking so we can get an up to date F3 chassis or anything )

    No, it died out.

Currently there is an F4 series that has just started in 2022. Next race is Interlagos on 2022/07/31 at 16:00 GMT/UTC. It is freely broadcasted on Youtube.
