What I would like in AMS2 is temperature control

 

I would like the GT3 and GT4 classes removed from the game.

But luckly for those who enjoy them I don't own Reiza

 

Why don’t you like them?

 

Realistic temperatures at various times of the year is not enough? Snow in Brazil or palm trees at Road America? Part of racing is not being able to control things like the environment down to the nth degree.

 

That is true, but changing temperature for practice would be fun. Sometimes it is fun to run during extreme temperatures

 

Use random weather (which is not random, but variable within plausible location-specific parameters) and you will get different temps in P, Q and R because they are happening across three days. Q is day before race date and P is two days prior.

RealWeather should also provide variety, but the you would have to change the base race date to not have the same pattern repeating each time you run a weekend at a track.

 

I question that myself a lot.

I would love to be part of the masses, but everytime I take the first turn with those cars I'm hit with a massive feeling of boredom, displeasure and irritation.

Applies to any sim, not just AMS2. Definitely not related to TC, as I love the F-V10 Gen 2, for example.

In summary: I also don't know why, I just don't like it.

Worth noting that I enjoyed the Ferrari GT3 mod in AMS1 though.

The big appeal of the GT3 and GT4 in my opinion is due to 2 main features.
1. They are very easy to drive close and on the limit, you feel like a proper pro driver going over the kerbs and flat out without losing control and crashing. There are more casual sim racers than hardcore give me a super challenge ones.
2. The cars are very "similar" to their street counterparts, so fans of each make can relate to cars they can have a chance to drive in real life. Not many will get a chance to drive a Sauber C9, while you can find your BMW 3 class rather cheap.

I think those are the 2 main reasons why in most racing sims the modern GT classes are some of the most popular, I rather enjoy them myself, though they are not in my top 5.

 

It's interesting how GT3 is this behemoth of the sim-racing world, but outside of 24 hour races at Spa, Nürburgring, and Bathurst general audience interest isn't that great. The reason why GT3 got so big in real motorsport is BOP, which makes sense from a cost/performance standpoint for team owners.

Absolutely gorgeous cars! Love prototypes.

Strongly dislike multi-class racing though. To me it looks lame and having far slower or far faster cars around you is just an annoyance.

ACC has air and track temperature control.

 

WEC will be LMH and GT3 only next year. LMP2 will be kicked out because of too many LMHs

Isn't LMH basically LMP2 from 2020 (at least speed-wise)?

 

Speed-wise yes, but they are far more complicated, it's like LMP1 but without the aerodinamic war that LMP1 became I guess. From what the pilots say they drive more like very complicated and powerful GT cars.

 

What could it be? Driver swap online i doubt, VSC and SC have been announced. Class specific points in championships?
