@paddler (i think was posted before)
I can't do it and understand very little but I think it's better and easier explained here in the video.

Have someone ever talked about how important it is that bigger feet makes you better at heel&toe? Also it helps if you've x-legs rather that o-legs.

Adding to what this guy is saying, I'd love for the race HUD to include the damage done to your brakes and transmission. Running longer races, you do damage these things, but there's no way to know if or when you need to change them.

As a size 13 feet, I can say it's completely backwards.

I am not opposed to a display of these damage values, but a lack of information "until it is too late" is the case in real life racing. You find out your transmission is damaged when a gear won't change properly. You find out your brakes are malfunctioning when braking distances get longer or the pedal requires more pressure. Often this is accompanied by a trip off the edge of the track when it takes you by surprise. Sometimes into the barriers...

Oh I totally agree, but it mostly bothers me because if you don't set up a preset pit strategy, it automatically "fixes" these things, even when it shows 0 engine damage, so you have no idea how long your repairs in the pits are actually going to take. Obviously the answer is to just create a pit strategy that doesn't include transmission and brake repairs/replacements, but it'd just be a nice quality of life addition for the HUD, I think.

I have some bad news for the Heel&Toe crowd, even if you buy a manual, the technique does not work with new cars. What I have experienced now with differnt models from 2014 onwards (Peugeot, Mini, BMW, VW) is that the ECU cuts fuel as soon as you tip the brake. Braking and keeping the engine revs up is impossible with stock ECU.

In addition I think that most Sim pedals are extremely unsuited for the technique, way to big pedals in a narrow row, much to light resistance for gas and clutch. Need to turn the foot 90° and hit brake with the heel while in RL cars it is easier to brake with toe and throttle with heel at a 45° foot angle.

BTW: even Walter Röhrl switched to left foot braking in the 80's as soon as it was possible with the pneumatic clutch on the Audi Quattro S1 (see pikes peak documentary) He always said you need to adapt to what is top tech to stay on top. Like he stated thathe stoped driving sideways when tyres got better and there was no more gain in drifting through corners on tarmac. (FIAT 131, Rally Monte Carlo)

Agreed, but real life also has mechanics to tell the driver afterwards that, yes, the brakes were damaged, etc.. Perhaps a sound effect could be added that indicates the brakes are about to fail? Or maybe an indication in the UI? I know the red colour of the brakes indicates excessive heat but there is nothing to indicate damage as such.

The danger is that when brake failure occurs, the player does not realise it and assumes that AMS2's physics aren't very good. All the information has to come from the UI and audio - there is no post-mortem that reveals what caused the car to leave the track.

Some of the modern manual transmissions in sport cars have some kind of auto blip doesnt they? I think it can be turned off, but I dont know if it allows hill & toe when turned off. The Civic Type R for example, I dont understand very well how it works.

Crew chief will tell you when your brakes are at 15% wear... And Simhub can also tell you this information...

I'd love super informative huds in game as well... But there are options for now...

There are some updates planned for V1.5, but I don´t think it fundamentally changes the look of the GUI - we find it to pretty pretty streamlined and purposeful as it is. Is it the looks that make it seem outdated to you, could you reference one that you find more appeasing?

Interesting. I rather find the rFactor2, AC menus looking old.

The rFactor and F1 22 menus are also very cluttered and confusing.

I wouldn't have thought neither of those things about AMS2.

I'd prefer something like AMS1 style.
Still like it the most among all others... :)

Especially the racing environment UI in RF2 seems older than that of GT Sport Cars in the beginning of the 2000s

Jokes aside, adding the graph would make me satisfied enough!
