    The ability to remove storm and fog somehow from random would be most welcome.

    I just use current day Real Weather. Random enough for me :cool:.
    (that and FCY - every race is different)

    Forgot to thank you for spending time making videos and explaining how the system works, given the lengthy and cantankerous debate and discussion earlier in the thread (that we both participated in). Very helpful to better understand what the weather system in AMS 2 can and cannot do and how user-selected settings affect things.

    Although I agree with @Cholton82's point right above you, I also agree the game does a decent job of providing some mystery or changeability in the weather to spice-up what would otherwise be always-dry races. A few tweaks will make the "random" weather even better.

    I am not sure if I would ever use a specific weather controller like the one in iRacing--even if it is possible to do in AMS 2 and Reiza chose to build it. I prefer realistic randomized weather and quite honestly don't even care about the RealWeather of the past. For me, the fun of weather affecting races (or Q sessions) is that you have to adapt on the fly. Prescribing it all in advance with knowledge of exactly what will happen next is of no interest. But would be good to watch iRacing and poll people using AMS 2 whether this is of more than a passing interest to a large proportion of users.

    There is enough control already if I want to experience a certain weather or a transition from one state to another to another. That's good enough for the "sandbox" type play. However, if some realistic random weather generator could give us more granular events, like 5 or 10 minutes of rain within an hour with all the lead-up and aftermath of that, and not be restricted to the symmetrical slots model, I'd be happy for a UI that others could force things to happen on their defined schedule ;)

    I found a lot of things that I never fully noticed because of this discussion. LiveTrack 3.0 is really impressive. I parked a truck in the ideal racing line with a lot of F1s running in light rain and even the dry line changes a bit.

    A timeline with weather slots fully custom (time lapse, weather, limited random types of weather) will be nice and Reiza can do this without mess with almost nothing in game engine itself, because this thing can go from clear to thunderstorm in two laps.

    A little question about real-time weather.

    What actually happens during a 24 hour race? 4 slots spread over 24 hours, or are there 24 1-hour slots in real time?

    Actually it wets faster, even without transitions...
    If you try your same video for the drying, but on the contrary with the wetting, you will see it.
    It was already demonstrated by Matus Celko some pages behind, I am surprised that his post was not taken into consideration by anyone....

    I did something similar to your "drying test" (I have far less skills in video editing), but with wetting.
    Of course I exxagerated it, but just to give the idea: I setup a 5 mins race, only myself on track (I already shown that sync to race with other cars dry the track faster....). light rubber initial state (dry), and rain weather.
    Case 1: 1 slot of rain (no sync to race obviously. Check track status and time left. Puddles start forming after 4 minutes. After 5 minutes track is not completely soaked.

    Case 2: 4 slots of rain, sync to race. Puddles start forming from second 1. Track is compeltely soaked after 42 seconds.

    This acceleration DOES NOT happen regarding the drying of the track IF you are alone on the track. If there are other cars the drying effect due to the cars passing on to the wet tarmac is accelerated (see my previous videos).

    But the acceleration with regards to wetting and water accumulation is there.

    I think that the acceleration can be bearable if it is a 4x (regarding wetting of course), therefore my suggestion is to use 2 weather slots only for races of 30 mins or more...

    I completely agree with you. More than two weather slots for short races (20-40 minutes) do not make any sense.
    But even in a 30 minutes race (using two random weather slots) it can happen that you don't get through a single lap on slicks if the weather changes from cloudy to thunderstorms. Weather transformation is always way too fast when using any form of acceleration (time/weather).

    You would probably get four, six hourlish weather states, another limitation of only 4 weather slots, real weather would make more sense in that case.

    It depeneds.
    if you have "Sync to Race" you would get 4 slots 6 hours ish long.
    If you have "real time" each slot would be an hour long, give or take the random transition. The four slots would repeat. I would use random slots to get a variation over the 24 hours. Remember that the random slots are effected by track location and the date set.

    Thanks! I didn't test the dry line itself with accelerated weather time, just the rest of track. It's strange this design decision, because I can understand accelerated wet track (squeeze a lot of rain falling in an amount of time, even If personaly I don't like It), but the track going dry in a different pace in racing line than the rest of track, don't sound logic.

    One question (incredibly :) ) not related to weather.

    Does "motion blur" work for you in vr? I am working on reshade to try to reach some different graphic appearance and I was curious to try motion blur. it definitely works in desktop mode, but I don't see a difference in vr.
    Do you have other experiences?

    Don't work. I believe any kind of motion blur don't work in any VR title that I have played right, anyway.

    That was simply removing the family sharing option for the beta, which I'm surprised was still an option previously. The last actual beta update was 26 days ago, so almost a month. I would guess maybe we'll see new content in April-May.
