Not really because it's a sudden change as the speed bleeds off. I'd turn in, the car would take a set with the given grip level, then as the speed came down it would switch and I'd have resettle to the new limit. I didn't try it at many tracks but I feel it in the 3 slow corners at Yahuarcocha so I don't think it's due to a track bump either.

Well ok but this is how it happens in real life, the aero grip goes away and mechanical grip becomes the dominant force. But there are so many contradictory things going on and I wouldn't be surprised if this another example of poor and inconsistent modelling. :)

I fixed the issue on my end, at least with the stockcars. I had to carefully recalibrate my brake pedal a couple of times in a row. Braking, especially trailbraking feels 1000x better now and I'm not plowing thru every turn.

I did a search for understeer and found this tread because after trying the game for a few days now, it's the biggest problem. Really, the only problem. I like everything else, but I'm having pretty much the same issues as the original post. And, it's NOT an FFB issue as some have suggested. There's a common, strange kind of understeer across every car I've tried. The car turns in okay, and then suddenly pushes like crazy before mid-corner to where you increase so much steering lock that you induce snap oversteer. It completely ruins the experience. I really hope they're working on a solution.

FYI, I drive AC, ACC, RF2, iRacing, and R3E. Even though these sims have their differences, there are far more similarities. I have only encountered this understeer problem in AM2.

i have to ask, very basic question

what are you guys' steering sensitivity when you battle this understeer. have you guys even tried messing with it?

The sensitivity has nothing to do with the steering description one above your post. I've experienced this as well: turn in is ok, wheel and throttle in same position (lifting too), not traveling at a high rate of speed and at mid corner, the front end begins to just wash away. It's like that for many cars. Even playing with the throttle...

You can adjust for mid corner push by stiffining rear ARB, increase diff locking, stiffen damp or spring or add a click or two of front df, weight bias forward etc. But its the same push characteristic for many cars so that tells me its something.... in something. Not ffb settings.

I had this same issue but have not noticed it on the new EA build. It was a very weird issue as it initially turned in hard then washed away then oversteered through the rest of the corner.

did you delete your Documents\Automobilista 2 folder?
They suggested that in the release notes, as they fixed a bad suspension bug.
Thats why you should reset everything by deleting. Also the default setups will be resetted, i assume and your stored setups will be killed, as they do not work correct anymore, as written in the release notes too.
just read the first 10 lines ;)

I find BRUTAL understeer in everything I drive. FFB adjustments do not explain understeer issues. iRacing, rFactor2,ACC all work fine. T500RS wheel/pedals. Tried all kinds of FFB adjustments as well as suspension changes, and everything still drives like a bus on ice. I owned a Caterham for a number of years, and I never had to stab the throttle to get oversteer just so I could turn. I have been at this for several hours and still do not have anything remotely drivable in any realistic fashion. Anyone have any suggestions?

Same thoughts regards the Caterham 620R specifically, as I posted here Bug Reports - Automobilista 2 (Read the Opening Post) Do you find the same issues regards tyre temps?
With others I'm managing to 'drive around the understeer', but I find the 620R massively too understeery. Cruising at 70Mph around a long sweeping bend and it just veers off, if real cars did that I'd be worried. Nothing to suggest I'm afraid, but I have posted it as an issue several times, inc in the linked 'Bugs topic', can only hope that there's a fixable issue.

Reduce the preload on the differential, that had a big impact for me.
