Yeah AI is impossibly fast on straights.

Try racing the P3 Roco’s at the full Oulton Park circuit and then you’ll see the absolute worst of AI in this game. I’m faster than them in the fast corners, but as soon as you hit any straight, it’s like they have constant super mario mushroom boosts. The only cars I have genuine fun with against AI are the V12’s and the Sprint Race cars. All other cars I only use for hot lapping, because the AI is no fun at all.

One complain: Racing in Monaco at midnight, there were a lot of lights-off windows. I'm racing at night because I don't want people to sleep, so wake them up, Reiza... make virtual-Monégasques pay some respect, please.

The AI settings feel different from player's default. Have you tried to lower your car's downforce? Have you tried a different gear settings? Because you just described cars with different setups, not a real balance issue.

I tried very different car/track combinations, 100% AI level with 50% aggression, and have just a feel issues with AI during their turn in. They pace is very decent overall.

    excelente trabalho!!!!

Buddy honestly try the P3 Roco at Oulton Park International, with whatever downforce and gear ratio’s you fancy and tell me that it’s fun. The way they slow down in fast corners then speed off on the straight isn’t even like they have DRS, it’s more like a super mario yellow arrow on the floor haha Believe me I’m a Reiza fan boy and I want this sim to be amazing! But trying to say the AI is acceptable in its current state or anywhere near as good as RF2 or R3E would be wrong and doesn’t help the game develop. I’m not saying that you said that, but that is the standard I know Reiza can and will achieve this year!

I'll try later, thanks. IMHO, AI is faster in straights just because they have a lot better traction than me on slow corner exits. If it's my fault, or super grippy AI, I really don't know yet, but I'm unable to put traction down at the same level as AI does. I'm on default setup tough, only brake bias and fuel changed.

Had a very good race with the Sprintcar at Curbelo, 100% strenght but changed aggresion to 30%. Still the same AI behaviour as other combos (slow AI on certain sectors, faster on fast sectors, overall lap time on par with my best laps), but this time the speed difference on fast straights following slow turns were a lot more manegeable.

I just made this post in another thread but just read your post here so thought I'd paste my comment for you to see.

Just had an amazing race (well i did it 3 times it was so great :D GT5 Puma at Guapore with 31 Ai at 120 skill 61 aggression with race start at 7 am start x5 progression , medium / heavy cloud / hazy x 10 weather progression :)

I haven't enjoyed battling for 20th place like this, well ever , it looked brilliant, the FFB is freaking spot on and the Ai didnt give up any spots after we all got sorted (still took half a lap or so), it was them getting the better on the brakes , me getting the better out of the corners and a drag race so evenly down the straight that it was braking and corner exit where the race was to be won or lost .

This was a near perfect experience :)

Fiat Uno at Oulton Park is decent, Stock Car and Super V8 at Kyalami are good fun.

If you are good on the brakes, super V8s at Imola 72, the battle of the last corner! and some pretty bad tarmac/asphalt, awesome race, To an easier level but equally fun Imola 88 with P2s.

Anybody know any good A.I combo's with the Lancer? Been getting really frustrated with keep getting smashed into, A.I having wildly varying speeds etc.

Surprisingly yes, most other Sims I'm around 107-115 but AMS 2 I can pretty well beat the Ai in lap times at 120 :(

Disabling vsync makes the super fast AI goes away and AI is great after that. Really weird but I've tested this with multiple tracks. I thing there is a framestep physics bug.

You may post this in the bug report thread as it could be interesting for the devs to know :

That's interesting , what track cars and conditions did you use to test this ?

I've only tested in VR, so maybe it's just an issue in that mode?

I play on Oculus with vsync OFF and super fast AI is there.

There is a bug I think with the Formula Reiza cars. Raced yesterday against AI at Spielberg, and the AI cars never reach top speed, they get stuck on 6th speed and shaking left to right.

    Anyone can confirm that?

I tried 120% in ARC around Campo Granda and failed hard! Needed to drop down to 108! So hard to keep heat in those tyres

Cully I had the brake pressure @ 75% and I'm also using the conical brake mod for the T3PA pedals which I've set to allow me to feel pressure increasing as I approach the point the brakes will lock up.
It's far, far easier to judge braking pressure by feeling the increasing resistance than by ankle position alone.
I have to press the brake really hard in order to lock the brakes up now.
You can get mod kits for the G series pedal sets that will do the same thing like this basic elastomer mod kit for about £10.

Or there's this which is a complete replacement lower spring assembly for the brake piston with a linear potentiometer inside for £53.99.

Or you can go the whole hog and opt for a load-cell converstion kit from Ricomech but I don't think they're making them anymore sadly.

I've played the 0.9.2 version very intensively during the past few days, and all in all, it is an improvement.

    Physics
Most car's brakes are much, much better, most notably the Formula 3, the Sprint Car, or the ARC Camaro. However, several suddenly feel ... weird, to say the least. They don't lock up easily, but their brake balance is excessively rearwards, so much so that basically, you're breaking the same way you did before - which is to say, apply next to no brake force - just now, you're doing it so that the car hopefully doesn't suddenly snap and spin.

That can be said for the MetalMoro AJR V6 Turbo, some of the classic F1 cars, and, sadly, the SuperV8, which, before, was my favourite car and now drives like a carrousel. Hope to see some improvements on that front.

Also, there is something weird going on with the rain tires on some cars. If they're allweather-tires, they tend to freeze in the rain, and provide not an ounce of grip. That's fun to drive, but even if it's a 1960's F1 car, I severly doubt that you could never go more than half-throttle in the rain.

    AI
Still unbalanced, still very prone to hit my back, still very reminiscent of pCARS2 AI. If there's any part of the Madness engine that is actually bad, it's this one. SMS never got it to work, and I'm quite anxious to see what you make out of them. Not to say you can't do it, though.

But this is an area that needs massive amounts of work. As of now, the offline experience is no experience at all. They simply do not feel like humans.

    Pad Support
It is getting a bit frustrating that I cannot enter any lobbies with locked setups, because, if I do that, I won't get the turn-in everyone with a wheel gets. Please add an option to adjust "speed sensitivity" like we could in Project CARS 2. I'm not talking about rumble feedback or anything like that, I can live without it if necessary, but speed sensitivity is vital. Please add it to the game.

    Netcode
I have been experiencing veeeery slight car-to-car contact issues, as if the bug from before was still there, just shrunken into almost insignificance. Sometimes, I had the feeling to have been sync-failed as well, when someone behind me tried a switchback, and I suddenly flew across the grass. It's nothing dire, but further optimisation would be welcome.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Keep up the great work guys, the aforementioned issues notwithstanding, we're going to have a great game at V 1.0, of that I'm certain!
