I don’t think there’s anything for Renato or Reiza to apologise for in terms of wanting their products to be the very best they can be. Nobody who enjoys AMS2 wants to see it fail, nor the team developing it. It’s a shame that development updates are stopping, but I can understand why this is, and why it makes sense from the point of view of Reiza. I’d like to think that everyone else agrees that it’s better for people to know less and be pleasantly surprised, than to know more and feel unfulfilled by anticipation. Thanks for keeping us updated on how you’ll handle things in future Renato.

Unabashed bootlicker mode ON. If you dislike cringeworthy posts, skip this.

Renato is being brutally honest here, and I felt reached by some of his remarks about community behaviour. But you know what? I'm perfectly fine with it. I'm perfectly fine with the honesty and transparency when telling things. Reiza Studios is an endeavor driven by humanity (with all the good and bad that it entails).

Love is not about being blind to flaws and just praise with tons of lame excuses for questionable stuff, that is sick obsession. Love is about seeing both good and bad of something, weight it on, and still consciously choosing it. I love Reiza Studios and their work, and I continue to choose AMS2 as my main sim.

    Unabashed bootlicker mode OFF

I'm very sad about the communication changes and, frankly, I would have bought into a Paddock Club in the past if just for the regular development information and updates.

I do love following the development of interesting games and series like Stellaris and Steel Division have been able to balance this sort of thing very well and recently the likes of iRacing and Raceroom are starting to be more regular with their communication and output.

However, I'm not blind or oblivious to how the communications have been received and have definitely been one of those asking for 'updates about updates' in the past. I work in a similar industry and deadlines are very hard to predict, which I understand and have no issues with the timeframes changing. I like to think any adult should understand how that works in this day and age, but clearly a small number of people do not.

So I'm disappointed to hear this but I do understand it.

There is a wider point here, which is that AMS2 has a very two-tier user system based on whether people are in the paddock club or not. I completely understand its necessity and background and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, but unlike most games there's inadvertently become a situation (especially obvious over the last few months) where a swathe of the audience are playing a 'lesser' version of the game. I don't have a solution for that (or I don't think there is one) but just wanted to take my chance to share that feeling.

More importantly than any of that, great news on v1.6 and I'm looking forward to the future, especially further IMSA content, modern endurance and any vintage LM/sportscar racing that is in development. I just hope the team can get a bit of rest at the end of the year, at least after you put the Steam pages live so we can finally pay you some money!

Thanks for taking the time to write up your thoughts and explanation.

Never going to please everyone. I appreciated the dev updates and sharing what was being worked on, as I'm sure a lot of others have. Have never been a very active member (by merit of limited time), but have been an AMS1 and AMS2 customer from their beginnings. Shame that those that scream the loudest impact Reiza's approach to communications and updates, but you guys obviously do what works best for you and the community at-large. Hopefully you and the good folks behind the scenes recognize there are many of us, if not a majority, who wait quietly in the background to enjoy the fruits of your labor. The entitled and impatient instant gratification crowd are a very vocal minority as far as I can determine. Development is hard, don't think many of us believe delays, pushes and missed target dates are intentional or even a big deal.

Keep up the fantastic and passionate work, we'll be here to soak it all up.

Thanks Renato and the whole team at Reiza!

Now that we're finally getting the fabled 1.6, I think I speak for all of us when I say,

    1.7 when??!!?!??!??

    :p

(Genuinely thought, a huge well done and thank you for all the hard work you've all put into this sim. You guys rock! :D)

    Congrats on the release!

Personally, I enjoy reading the contents of the dev updates, but if there's one constant with them it's certainly that the estimates of anything date-related have all been wrong to say the least. My solution to this was to simply ignore these estimates and just wait for either the dev update or the actual release of things to pop up and honestly? It's worked great for 1.6 (I barely post here but trust me, my F5 button works all the same :p)

That said, I've seen the complaints and outrage when these estimates aren't met or when the content of the updates is maybe not exactly what was shown in the dev updates (maybe not too much here, but on places like Reddit), so I understand that at this point without a season pass to commit to and with the paddock club providing more direct access to the most engaged AMS2 players, there's not as much incentive to provide them as before. Which is to say, I'll miss them, but I see why it's being done.

Anyways, just happy to finally have 1.6 around the corner. Congrats again!

I'm glad to be in the silent majority and happy with AMS 2 as it is and excited about v1.6 and stuff..
Thanks :hurrayreiza: for all the hard work. Orgulho de ser Brasileiro tendo uma companhia BR dessa!

And as a developer of a Career Mode mod for AMS 2, I'm excited about how it's gonna be the official Career, waiting with the same level of patience and excitement knowing it's going to be worth it..

Well, time to rush the design of my skinpacks and developments of my apps for v1.6

I can understand this feeling for this particularly long 1.6 dev cycle that improves on all aspects of the game. But it looks like v1.6 is a "one off" to me, with future updates probably more incremental.

Sad to see the entitled instant gratification crowd have killed the dev updates. Personally, I think that's not a good decision, but completely understandable.

Thank you for all the hard work Renato and team! Your hard work will not go unappreciated. Sad to hear regular updates are going to be a thing of the past. Mostly because some people get excited, are impatient and start complaining. This is more a poor showing on them than on Reiza, IMHO. I really don't care what rebuttal they have on that matter.

I'm really hoping now that AMS2 has reached such a massive milestone, some work can hopefully be focused on the multiplayer aspect. You know a lot those of us wishing and waiting on multiplayer side since day 1 of this game have been super patient and will continue to be. Sending much love and appreciation to your team!
