Congrats to Renato and the whole Reiza team. AMS2 1.6 is a massive achievement and I'm excited to finally experience what you've been working on over the last several months.

I understand the decision to stop the dev updates. They've been enjoyable and informative, but for you they do seem to be more trouble than they're worth. The delay has been frustrating for me as the endurance content in 1.6 is what I really focus on in my simracing and motorsports watching. I'm sure the delays and static you've been getting is 10x more frustrating for you.

Thank you for a very fun game and all your hard work bringing this to market.

Just here to vocalize that I absolutely love @Renato Simioni’s process, the way he treats his team, the way he runs his company and delivers his product, the no nonsense approach to communication, the care for perfection. It’s a breath of fresh air in a corporatized world. It’s not your fault that there are a handful of cry babies that throw temper tantrums when their imagined expectations aren’t met, nor do I think you should change anything about your process for them. Keep on rocking and thanks for all the work!

Huge congratulations and a big thank you to Reiza and the entire team for pushing through and delivering this update, so it’s finally here! I also just have to say how incredible this community is. There’s so much positivity and good vibes here and it’s something you just don’t see in other sim racing groups.

First of all- awesome! Glad to see everyone's patience paying off and I have nothing but absolute awe at how much has went into this update. The imminent release is a nice cherry on top :)

Second of all- yeah, understandable honestly. Very diplomatically worded, I must say, and even as someone who saw these updates as a sort of tradition to look forward to I honestly don't blame you for seeking alternate methods of communication with how things have gone lately: as you said the game is at a point where it will hopefully speak for itself rather than needing to be spoken on behalf of at the former high lengths. Am I gonna miss cosying up and having these giant write-ups to read through over and over again between updates, seemingly finding something new every time? Yes. Am I gonna miss seeing a thousand "dev update when" comments? Not really, and I think I'm much happier to lose the former than the latter.

Wishing you luck with the release! Even if it doesn't meet some people's expectations I'm sure everyone can at least appreciate how absurdly huge this one is going to be and the sheer amount of work that's went into it

Been here since AMS2 beta days. I had the chance to buy the beta support but stupidly didn't, I didn't know how much I'd get bitten by the sim racing bug. It's my go to sim. Keep it up Reiza, can't wait to try 1.6 <3

We can't have a bad word, as impatient as the players were, they could have said "thank you very much, we won't continue development." but luckily they don't deal with the hysterical part. those who have teased the developers so far have now broken out into innovation...interesting.

btw: Congrats for the 1.6 Release, hope the crying ppl stay quiet now for a while. :)

Hello Renato and the whole Reiza team. I'm part of the silent majority and enjoy your dev updates (I read them several times). I really enjoy AMS2 and am grateful for your hard work. You can be proud of what you accomplish. I find it a shame not to read you again in the future.

Just read the letter and I’ll pop in some thoughts as someone who is quite active in the AMS2 community outside of the forums.

It’s super nice to see positivity in the community now on v1.6 release day. From the user perspective it’s been a bit frustrating with the stop start nature but as someone who has worked in small technical companies much of what Renato has mentioned is extremely true and expansion and growth can be difficult to manage.

I think we as a community need to take a deep breath and think about some perspective. As someone who entered the AMS2 ecosystem in Winter 2020, the game has not only evolved massively - the technical challenge they’ve over come should not be underestimated. To frankly piss off come of the sim racing community, simulating vehicles is dammed hard and there’s not many folks on the planet who actually are good at it. Yes we see other titles, yes we see twelve trillion mods in other games, but to deliver something of the quality AMS2 now is rightfully should be commended.

Those of us around since the early days of AMS2, I can say we’ve all seen how fundamentally ugly sim racing as a whole can be and how much flak Reiza have got from I’m redacting thoughts on sim racing community members here, as a sim racer I take a dim view of the hobby and the bully boy mentality that exists from grown adults and adolescents. Even as players we’ve received flak from the community simply for backing, enjoying and supporting the game. So I fundamentally forgive Reiza some of the prickliness.

To anyone with a grain of understanding of vehicle dynamics and simulation the potential of the Madness Engine has been there since day 1. Devil is in the detail and it’s always been a case of getting to this stage.

Personally I can’t escape criticism myself, as I’m sure I’ve gotten on a few devs nerves advocating for MP work for the past few years, but gladly have eaten delicious humble pie since late 2023 as the effort from Reiza, JustRace and LFM has been considerable and consistent. I’d have liked to have helped more but Time Zones are a bitch. Anyone who races MP should give Rezia plaudits for taking the flak that came their way and getting the job done when they could.

I hope a page is turned with everyone involved and we can just focus on enjoying the game. I hope that the wider community responds positively and we can take some of negativity out of things and that the community comes around. I have to give credit as well to some controversial influencers who realized the toxicity of the situation and moved forwards positively afterwards and are helping to contribute to a better wider vibe. Respect is due there as well. As for the rest I’m sorry I can’t hear you over the wonderful new sounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

I said it in the Beta forum but i'm saying it again.
Absolutely love that you keep the company small(er) and that the influence of the people in suits that is felt across the gaming industry as a whole on so many levels.

I remember a reddit post from a Simcity developer before the full layoffs that they just had to match the money output of the sims which was completely unrealistic and they had to release at a certain date whilst they were totally not ready. They made this plot buying thing with real money so you could expand your city and completely went off what their ''passion'' was for the game and didnt implement things they wanted to. Now the studio is no more as they did not make enough money

We as consumers sometimes decide that, and unfortunately, the business people are smart to bring products that bring them money, with the game hitting those certain beats GOOD enough, or just smart business oriented money extracting quick cash jobs.

This is different, Renato chooses to keep the local family vibe whilst still expanding the business
Just looking over to the forums every day and following the product from far since the beginning of AMS1 you can just see that, Okay the resources may not be grand, it takes more time.

These M******* Work their asses off with PASSION!
They are setting goals, and get distracted sometimes because on that road they look to the side and see other things they can fix or perfectionize, and they get the time and space to do that! That is incredible, its passion, they have passion for motorsport, passion for authenticity and just a motivation thats immaculate.

In my opinion, vote with your wallets lads. I know we just vote by looking at what is in front of us with the final product. And not who made it and what was behind it, but in my opinion, that cannot be overstated enough. These guys deserve it on work ethic, but I also think the product will speak for itself.

And ofcourse it is not over! They will continue pushing it forward, lots of things to do, lots of things to fix. and a possibility of more in the pipeline in the future. But if it ended at 1.6? I would be extremely satisfied as a customer with how the product is handled

For someone who loved the Dev updates and never had a problem with ''overdelivering'' but just saw it as being so personally almost like a family at the thanksgiving table ''overly enthusiastic about its own product'' with good estimations of where the headspace is of the company, its really sad to see those tidbits go. But I also see a change this year with Reiza where they dont push out every tiny step forward to public and they really want to make a splash, which is really cool to me too.

Obrigado Reiza, Back in the day in the early 2000s everybody did it with that level of passion and freedom, pushing boundaries and trying to extract the most out of it, whatever the size of the dev studio. Now its almost solely indie developers, but look at the size you are performing this! To me that is class.:hurrayreiza: :hurrayreiza: :hurrayreiza:
