I’m a 46-year-old guy, and with all the "complications" that come with life, AMS2, as Renato rightly points out, is the place where I find everything in one place that I struggle to find in other simulators. It wasn’t my first simulator, but today I choose it as my favorite.

Knowing that these guys have maintained their drive after seven years makes me happy, because we all have passions and know what it means to work on them. I entered the world of AMS2 in 2021, and my way of supporting them was by getting all the content.

I think that even though I’m not a fan of some categories and use them very little, it doesn’t mean I won’t someday, and it also provides financial support for the developers. Personally, I can wait for that "career mode." I prefer something more finished than patching things halfway through.

Thank you, team, and thank you to the community as well, because without everyone’s support, this wouldn’t be possible.

Excited to see the possibility of modders editing car performance for skin packs, not just driver skill levels, etc.

But I'm wondering if this will only apply to the AI or if your own car's performance will be affected depending on what skin you choose.

Also does this potentially nod to a basic car upgrade system for the career mode?
Because that would be pretty mega. :p

Edit: By car upgrade system I mean the idea of buying some old, beat up race car that is down a little on performance and having to race against the odds in an underperforming car until I can afford to repair/upgrade it to be more performant compared to the rest of the field.

I think it's moddable car performance, not livery based performance changes.

With AC Evo now ditching their Career Mode ambitions and the rising pent up demand for it in this space for the PC, AMS2 has the opportunity to be catapulted if done very well.

I think it's been said before that the reason this hasn't been done yet is due to the live track system not being designed with saving the state of the track in mind. So I'm going to assume it'll be resetting of things like rubber, dirt, water on track to a default state.

    But that's just a guess.

Let's see how this turns out. Renato directly mentions "boosting the grid of existing classes with additional contenders" in the part about fictional content.

Here's Renatos post about mid save limitations a he made in the topic about that a few months ago. It's bascially that dynamic weather changes can't be reproduced and saved exactly how they were, so if you continue a savegame weather state and transition would differ

These three aspects would be absolutely game changing. It's the kind of stuff I wish I had in all sims.

God knows how many time I wished for custom BoP. I very much hope it's not just ballast, but also engine power and tank size, at least. I don't see a way to make a somewhat effective BoP with less than these tools. I would add also minimum and maximum aero settings if it was feasible.

Edit: I understand these are plans, so I wish the best of luck to the team in trying to bring this vision to reality.

I believe in you guys and I'm sure you'll do incredibly well, no longer living in reality but in AMS2 :p and I'll have to propose to you!!! :D P.S.: I hope they add the historic Argentine Touring Car series, like Argentine tracks such as Balcarce, Zonda, and others.

The "Paddock Club" is one of the best investments I've ever made. Can't wait to be apart of this ever evolving Sim from the inside out.

A generic 1960s 1.5 litre single-seater would be good. It could then take skinpacks for an early sixties F1 car or a late 60s F2 car. That would cover two crucial missing rungs for people DIYing a career mode (currently nothing between Formula Junior and Formula Vintage). Also worth mentioning that those were two of the most popular mods in Grand Prix Legends.

I'm so glad to hear development will continue. Bravo! ;)

Content is great but that the addition of more representative rules for the myriad of race series represented are being considered is even better. This along with limited tyre sets, more realistic tyre damage, and consequences for vehicle damage over a weekend are very welcome, that is provided the AI are subject to it also! I sincerely hope team Reiza can finally get the AI to have these consequences too, because as things are, no penalties for any rule infractions are ever suffered by the AI! Vehicle damage is also woefully poor with very little penalty for aero or suspension breakage compared to the player. Head/tail/side winds also have no effect at all on the AI. The lines, speeds and calibration of the AI in differing conditions and scenarios are in desperate need of development, along with the AI using the different tyre compounds the player has to in given situations. Putting the AI and the player on a more even playing field will be a momentous achievement, and one I wholeheartedly support!

As a single player focused sim, and with the coming career mode, it is imperative these matters are addressed. I am curious and cautiously optimistic to see what the team can develop in the coming months/years, both with the AI, championship and career modes. :)

Seems to be a good year if most of the roadmap gets released.

Gonna enjoy most of it but the most I am looking forward to are:
*Mid race saves: Can finally do real time endurance races even with the limitiations it will have
*Dynamic weather and track improvements: A big overhaul is needed here as currently the track temps and dry-wet/wet-dry transitions are pretty unrealistic.
*Technical and sporting regulations: This is sorely needed to make the qualy sessions much more coherent and less chaotic. Hoping for team based championship scoring but as its not mentioned I am not holding my breath.
*Individual car performance modding: This will help a lot with balancing some currently pretty unbalanced classes and cars like the F-Vintage, Brabham BT46 among others.

A very important and essential feature not mentioned that does worry me, is the ability for the AI to use different dry tire compounds. The current solution only works for short sprint races, I really hope this gets properly introduced one day, as its an inherent and essential feature of most of the motorsport classes represented in the game.

I spy Michelin branding in the 05 and 06 F1 screenshots - do we get to relive F1's final tire war to date in AMS2?
