Man, I really hope the Porsche 935 and the BMW 320 get some company—ideally the Ford Capri—so I can put together a proper DRM 1979 skin pack once they’re out.

    Hey Renato,
    awesome stuff as always.
    Question:
I remember that tyre curing and graining/blistering was mentioned as something you fellas would be interested to add quite a while ago. Do the teased improvements to tyre damage properties relate to these things ?

As anxious as I am to get my hands on an AMS2 career mode, seeing a half baked, superficial career mode slapped on top of the game would, IMO, be worse than no career mode at all. Beyond that, such a half baked feature would be, in my long (10+ year) history with Reiza, really not be consistent with how they do things. They are going to do it right or not at all.

As great as I think the offline AMS2 experience is, right now there are just too many quirks and caveats with the "strategic" behavior of the AI to do a career mode "The Right Way". I find the AI's actual on track behavior solidly above average compared to other sims - certainly more than good enough to have a darn fun offline race against them...IF you're willing to do some experimenting and place them in an appropriate rules sandbox accordingly. That "IF" is what I think needs to be cleaned up a bit in order to deliver a career mode of Reiza-quality.

    Hi,
    Thanks for this big news.
Just one question, what about the 2025 or 2026 BRB Stock car ?
    Thanks per advance

Career mode will definitely be something amazing. But with custom championships and new options, I can easily wait. So Reiza, take your time, bring new cars and especially new tracks...

Hopefully some of the new championship scoring options include support for teams. If so, that'll be another fun opportunity for modders to make even more incredible seasons for us.

This is really fantastic news and will only enhance our enjoyment of the best sim out there.
Here are the things I'm most looking forward to: the save race option is massive for endurance races, limited tyre sets over a race weekend, different qualifying and race formats, better mod support and as always more new tracks.
And above all else the career mode.
2026 will be massive for AMS2, it's already the best sim for offline single player racers like myself (that's the game's real strength) all of these additions will take the game to a new level.

Yes and updating the V8s would be a great excuse to add Townsville and the Newcastle street circuit.

For me I'd like mid-race saves to only be possible during pit stops. It's too cheap if you can save at any moment out on track.

Some time back I was asking about the ability to change BoP on cars through modding (allowing for F1 seasons etc to be represented properly).. It's finally been mentioned again and sounds like it will be better than I dared asking for. It is something I'd imagine the main portion of players don't think of/care about all that much, yet Reiza is doing it and thus covers corners that I'd imagine few devs ever would consider.

    Great stuff as always Reiza

If it has no limits, that means you are still free to only save in the pits, but anyone who has to suddenly leave mid-race can do so without having to pit early or wait for a pit stop.

And, if it is indeed not technically limited to pit stops by the implementation itself, Reiza could always add a gameplay option to limit mid-race saves to pit stops, for those who wish to enforce this limitation.

It's a singleplayer only feature, why does it matter where anybody wants to save for his own race?

Being able to save everywhere on track would actually be really great since on very long tracks like Nordschleife or Circuit de la Sarthe you could create savegames to improve your driving of certain parts of the track without driving full laps all the time.

Norisring and Thruxton are my wishlist for Tracks, thruxton is the only Track missing from 1996 BTCC, and Norisring needs no introduction
