You are in a bad way too huh?
I have focussed on different things this month, and the weather is finally nice and inviting enough to do some evening mountainbike trails.
But I have to admit, now that it's almost upon us, I'm acting like an addict!

Edit: Watched 27's video like a dozen times now...

Come on, man. It's called work for a reason. This is the reality of working to deadlines. It's no different to a school student, which I suppose you're closer to than not, and a student doesn't necessarily have to be young, well at assignment time there's a crunch.

It works out for them too because they're making the product which helps their own lives. I'm just saying don't cut them down as whatever work they're doing it's for their own gain. Not people who buy it. People can buy it at any time... When its out. The reality is these things take hard work. Anything really good usually does

It doesn't matter how hard you work at it; sometimes, software won't listen. There are times when the best thing to do is to sleep on a problem and solve it the next day. Further, I am well acquainted with the world of work and its deadlines, having spent quite a few years meeting them.

True, but school students don't have many thousands of people salivating in anticipation for said assignment, and ready with flaming torches and pitchforks should the smallest issue or delay occur. :)

True, students' ones are usually 1 or a pack of 10, salivating on their necks during exams while moving slowly between seats and sniffing the air as predators....here a pic..

It is called professor or magister (depends the grade on the alimentary pyramid) but once the exam is finished he looks as us...human...

Well you know, Scrapper, if they can't be excited in this very forum then where can they get excited? There's no kaboshers on the youtube videos... so the forum is also a perfect place.

Read on for a deeper understanding to how I was thinking about it all personally. But not necessary.

First off, some transparency to the narrative of the conversation and trying to change the goal posts - don't claim "authority" here on software as its something literally all of us technically minded people understand, probably you, me, all the others. I am not sure but I think you made a mistake about suggesting they should down tools and crack open a beer 'just in case' they get hard up later. A lot of these people in these software houses do NOT operate like that...I am NOT talking about Cyberpunk artists dude lol...and game designers maybe...MOST of them otherwise... they may get frustrated but they don't like to drop problems so hard, and they are in the middle of a delivery window the long term fortunes of the project hinges upon. Some people even if you told them to leave work could not put down the problem at home... thats how mechanics and other technical pursuits work, they solve things, like hard-core guys do. The problem never sleeps. Nor do they a lot of the time, depending, and this is their livelyhood so their performance here is conducive to a lot of good things for them. Hard work does pay off.

I mean its not like there's plenty of time for cracking open a beer or taking it easy anyway.... So you're acquainted? Thats great - then you know you made a mistake when you didn't say they could go onto other things in the interim.

Nah - you're probably into modern software design, with hand-holding projected management - the kind like E.A etc you release any old code base, and 'fix it later' when the colorful box pops up one day 6 months later.

Congrats. You are better off sticking to google api's, and maybe light mobile apps.

Anyone who has a phone or lived through windows 3.1 and 3.11 and windows 95 understands software. Anyone who did any look at anything in an object environment understands. Even pascal and close to bone machine code in 1 in and out systems that are NOT multi-use (and you might assume its simple) and people who program machines to do one thing at a time one after the other....people just get this stuff now; I bet you ANY one can program a simple RPG type game - where you call a couple of library's in C and made a few variables and a couple of arrays. Its no secret software, yeah man, 'we get it'... so I think everyone speaking on this thread understands software.

So you've met deadlines, did you? And I bet you liked to clock on half way through the day. You don't even maintain a consistent narrative. You probably were not even alive prior to the windows NT period - you know, where we had 'real' limitations. And people had to push pens a lot more with project management. There were less lines of code back then though.

We can't pretend to know what rigors or problems the software is presenting, if at all, if you lived through any software period then you understand, so to claim special dispensation on those grounds is just a front for something else...those people who said that didn't like that others were getting excited for the product....

All that, put aside except to say software people solve problems with it all the time - and much of the clay they are working with in this case is based on SMS stuff/half of it is there. I am not telling anyone to do any thing, I am only suggesting we do not tell them what to do or act funny towards the people who are demanding they do something (which is actually not myself), because they are merely excited for the product.

When you do that its actually discouraging when a worker is working on something and someone is saying "oh no....don't let the fact everyone is excited affect you', there is nothing wrong with a little bit of pressure.

If a person says " I want you to disregard how excited people are" well thats demotivating; life is a rich tapestry when things are happening, you do not get time to think, you just get involved and focused on what you are doing. If someone stops you (like a sports star reads the newspapers about bad press) then its like having something said to you "What are you playing for! Don't play for x, y, z reason!"

See, every little bit helps, even if its not saying something.

I know you or others meant well, but come on lol I am not saying anything except to suggest to you/others - that this week/days/whatever it is - is a window of a time frame, and they'd probably like to get it done.

We can then buy it forever after that - but when you combine 12 more updates I think even they want it to happen in the best time frame, and I do not think if we add up "going lax" 12 more times, it will be a good outcome. Which is what will happen because I bet you there is no mistreatment involved. I think they've got it covered. If its late its late I do not think any one is denying that could happen and if it does so be it; but those guys were just excited as they knew 31st/1st/2nd is usually when the patch drops.

And its no secret the game got really good this year. So they would be excited more than ever. Also.. just looked: the amount of comments each month is increasing in these threads, so as more substance has come into the game, there has been more to talk about and look forward to - so its only natural they would be excited about more things. I do not think they will trample the staff though haha

    :)

For added fun, I read the entire post in the voice of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons, then re-read in the voice of Grandpa Simpson. Not sure which one was better.

Really, really looking forward to the update coming out, so I stop distracting myself!

Lol, nah the DLC is too expensive, I can't afford it with my peasant rig, lol.
Course I will buy it, hell yeah! I am buying them all individually, it is a bit more coin for Reiza doing it that way. Will get it as soon as it is available.
I didnt need a 5950X just wanted one that is all, you know, like how guys with little peckers get big V8 cars.

No one cares but I've got a revelation this morning. As AMS2 is now a "mix of anything sim", it's now in an another type of market. The competitors are PC2, GT sport and Forza. I don't like the first 2 but the good news is that other than lot of cars and tracks (included US content), Forza 8 is gearing toward the hardcore simulation side with a bunch of new (revolutionary?) sim features. The big difference with AMS2 is that the content are not dropped drop by drop via DLC. So I will save my money for F8 as a "mix of anything sim" . I think I will leave AMS2 from now. Until F8 is released I will enjoy the US content that I've already bought for AC and RF2 and RRRE. Also the Raceroom which has US content also is waiting for a big update may bring some surprise. Thank you guys for all those exchanges. I'm done from now.

I got roasted by a guy (one of them) who said how dare I suggest the game was up there with forza in terms of being 'car-atmospheric-like' and that it should aim for between that and Rfactor2 etc, (closer to rfactor2 of course) caving out a new thing. I know now is not the time to discuss this, but in light of all the discourse and argument, I just want to point out I am a target when very good suggestions come to light - this was at a time when I was saying the extra slip is not necessarily a bad thing.

Oh yeh - and that I was enjoying the title. I just *shrug*.

Other games we didn't know we all liked until we played them - civilization, tetris, minecraft, the list goes on
