You'd think with all the time spent in the tunnel that would of been one of the first to come to mind...

Doing some research of tracks below sea level there are a few, but not many, and none are in AMS2...

That was a interesting Stock car era, VW Bora, Astra Sedan and... Mitsubishi Lancer of all things haha. I think only the Evolution was sold here at the time wasnt it?

 

Yes they were, but i believe the marketing was more focused on the standard lancer as the Evos were imported cars and thanks to our Import Laws they were heavily taxated and therefore very expensive

Yeah but the thing is only the current lancer is sold/was sold in the standard version here, that from stock car I dont hink so, never saw a standard lancer from that generation, dont even know how it looks.

 

They had slightly different, headlight, tailights, grill and rear wing as far as i remember

The model in stockcar was indeed more based on the Evo, maybe thats why Mitsubishi left StockCar so early, as there were only 20 evo IX that actually got sold on Brazil, they found out that the win on sunday sell on monday don't work when your car cost 5x more than your rivals cars

The non evo Lancer would be a finantial sucess later in brazil though in the 10th generation, but mitsubishi did not brought them to stock car intead running on a spec lancer cup series, present in AMS 2 btw, and on the 10th generation the difference between the evo and standard Lancer were minimal and the Evo X despite still being expesive went to sell twice the amount of cars that the Evo IX did, unfortunately mitsubishi killed the evo after the 10th generation worldwide, and nowadays are only making boring cars and are not involved anywhere in motorsports, which is a big shame.

 

Technically not correct, Cleveland is actually 200m above sea level (653'). That's not the ocean, that's a freshwater lake.

On topic though, the VRC Chevrette is almost a stand in for the classic, colorful, IROC cars that raced there.

 

I'm working on 2 cars from the current 2023 Season. One is green the other is red.

 

Indeed, they sold a bunch of Outlanders, so good for them I guess, but I think we'll never see an Evo again, maybe as an electric performance SUV or something weird like that haha.

I LOVE the black one

 

I find those sidepods hideous and I personally prefer them on silver

but my opinion might change when they introduce the new sidepods which is quite soon if I’m not mistaken

 

True, but I was thinking of livery. The Ferrari one is a bit odd and the Red Bull one isn’t as clean as the Mercedes one

 

I like the Ferrari livery quite a lot actually as well as Aston one

mercedes livery again I prefer last year silver one, this year one felt a bit lazy in my opinion specially the placing of the Mercedes stars in the engine cover

For me the best Mercedes black liveries are the DTM one on the 190E and the black sauber C9, but that’s just my opinion
