Maybe these ones, I think they are appropriate for all the amazing classic tracks from Reiza:

They* are all terrible compared to the 80s and 90s cigarette boxes F1 cars.
Edit: *the current F1 grid, I'm not referencing the beauties posted right above!
I mean, look at these beauties:
    upload_2023-5-9_16-7-57.png
    upload_2023-5-9_16-10-16.png

Even when it should look ugly, it looks good:
    upload_2023-5-9_16-8-38.png

I think the body and proportions of the 80s and 90s also help with it... if we look at Ferrari, which is just a red car, it still looks better than today's rendition:
    upload_2023-5-9_16-12-9.png

F1 definitely should go back to cars with the size of the 90s ones... Safety, yadda yadda, ok I get it, but we have been going downhill for almost 30 years now.

Didn't know Google was already in F1 back then.

While I do also think that F1 cars looked most sexy in the 90s, safety is paramount. There's nothing that destroys the sport more than dead drivers, not to mention the human tragedy when people lose friends and loved ones.

I don't think that there is one single person in the F1 management that would be willing to throw safety out of the window for 'better' looking cars.

Grosjean would most likely not be alive today kicking some $%&§ in IndyCar if he had crashed in a Ferrari 641 e.g. Instead he walked away with a burned hand and smoking socks. Imo that is progress. Engineers wouldn't want to go back to heavy and thirsty V12s either, or less aero etc.etc.

V12s should be made the only mandatory engine architecture in F1...

Probably the biggest problem with livery diversity in F1 this season is that they are leaving bare carbon everywhere to loose weight, but even before that the creativity for liveries seems to be lost. The teams seem to be afraid to use something thats not red or black for some reason.

Still, would be cool to see a modern F1 car hybrid system used with thirsty v10s.

I would like to see all of the tech available maximised, that is what F1 is for me. Ground effect, active suspension, active aero, mgu-k, h and whatever else you like.

I think the problem with recent regs is that the areas teams are forced to find gains in require incredibly expensive infrastructure and time, because they are such minor aero tweaks or efficiency hunting right down to the level of improving lubricants. I think the sport would benefit from allowing more creative freedom in cars which would take us closer to the days where sticking a dinner tray on the car could win you a championship.

Poor teams will never win (again) in F1 so we should go back to pushing for the limits.

That would be awesome. Also, love your snow advocate tag, I second that, really hoping we get snow and ice/snow tyres. =)

And nowadays they are also much more restricted than in the 70s, 80s and 90s. I remember reading an interview with the Haas livery head designer, and he explained that there are so much corporate mandatory guidelines, specific request from sponsors regarding the placement of the logos and all sorts of engineering restrictions on which part of the car could have what kind of livery, etc that is not surprising to see that seldom we are able to see a new car with creative livery design. He said that these constraints are much higher now and that we will probably never see again the creative liveries from 70s, 80s, etc. He even said that he can see incredible liveries on internet, but that these fantasy liveries don’t have any constraints or strict guidelines.

From a fan and spectator perspective that is an understandable position ^^ Manufacturers have a guaranteed seat at the table when F1 and FIA decide things, efficiency will always be the priority. Making more power with half the displacement and half the number of cylinders is also progress ^^

Making cars run on rubber bands might be great for rubber band durability but doesn't make for an exciting sport. ;)

Jokes aside, 50% thermal efficiency was a crazy accomplishment.

Very interesting and it explains it all, I guess corporate never realised how a memorable livery makes brands be remembered, today I cant even read 90% of the stuff on the Mclaren for example. The livery itself is so busy and with a ton of brands tacked on it.

Very interesting take on things that no sim can simulate properly, by a real life professional driver:

I'm glad he said no sim can properly simulate wet conditions, because I find it really odd in all the sims I've tried, including AMS2 (vs AI is even worse, damn terrible tbh)

Yup saw that video today, lots of good stuff

Reiza shoulda reach victor genz or another rl driver (if they don't have one already) out to help them get things as accurate as possible

Exactly that! The same can be applied to helmets. Most of them are a complete mess, over saturated of info, colors, shapes. the last distinctive one was Vettel’s one.
