Im hoping that straight4 will help work on ams2 physics and content before everything is inevitably ported to UE5 as ams3/GTR-R :D

Well they mostly met the deadline this past update with the RC, and instead of delaying it, they released some hotfixes before the full release.
So let's hope it's the same with the full 1.5 and they meet the end of June target, specially since I have a long 4th of July weekend .

I believe when the 1.4.8 RC got released, that the full 1.5 release would be in 5 or 6 weeks time, hopefully the adrenaline pack will also be released then, as Renato mentioned that would be released at the end of June as well...

He didn´t commit to a year, though.

He already has, we just have to put the pieces together. Everything outside of the Adrenaline pack and USA bonus pack has been fulfilled. Brazilian Racing Legends, Historic Track, and Supercars DLC all have a "part 1" at the end of the title. It was confirmed when those packs released/got announced that future parts would not be in the season pass. So that's (at the very least) three DLCs that as of now are confirmed post Season-pass. This is not including Lemans which (assuming it's DLC) bumps it up to four DLC packs.

We have the information we need to assure us that Reiza has plans for post-season pass content. Unless you're doing some meta critique about sequels you're not gonna name something "part 1" without plans for a "part 2"

My post in particular was simply saying that Reiza lived up to the promise of supporting and developing the game for several years, and since that has passed and we can see already things shaping for the future in other projects,it would just be nice to have comments regarding plans for AMS2 vision of the future.

Instead I get "AMS2 will not be dropped" response. Ok, I never implied that, I specifically asked about development and not support. As an outsider I don't know if Reiza aren't going to be able to deliver all they wanted within a timeline that they planned to develop and support the title. Given they will be working on a title that will be in the exact same genre as the one title they have, it logically raises questions. As it is the team is small and can't meet their own deadlines which is why 2 years later we still await content that was promised and paid for. My point is not to discredit Reiza but merely point to the fact that even now they have their hands full meeting existing promises so any partnership or other project surely depletes the current resources.

I totally understand your thinking here, but Reiza have to decide as a business if that makes sense. It doesn't always unfortunately.
At this point the game has a loyal following, but has failed to even capture a meaningful amount of even the Project Cars 2 fanbase let alone a meaningful amount of the niche market simracing is. You have to weigh if the juice is worth the squeeze. I get they want it to be perfect but 5 years in development and we are still fixing physics and ai, let alone a currently lackluster MP experience and non existent career mode. I believe improvements in both are coming, but I don't know for sure.

I never thought that the PC2 fanbase would switch to AMS2.

I think Renato said some time ago that AMS2 was financially more successful than AMS1 ever was. And if AMS2 continue to improve at a steady (although possibly slow) pace with new content and improvements, it should attract a steady flow of new users in the long haul. For example, the v1.5 physics change might bring new users. So does a future proper career mode taking advantage of most of the sim features, which requires physics and AI to be developed to the best they can be first up to their final form. I am persuaded that AMS2 due to its unique features and content can continue to sell for a very long time. Probably not in huge volume, but sufficiently enough to keep it viable for Reiza to work on it for a long time.

I don’t believe this. Apart from the console players, I think a lot of the pc2 fanbase have moved ams2. You always hear stuff like ams2 is ‘what pc3 should’ve been’. And ams2 must have been very profitable for Reiza.

The numbers literally say otherwise. Even into 2022 Pcars 2 was dominating AMS2 and infact, at this very moment the player count is equal. These are facts. I'm not trying to hate on the game. Screenshot_20230614-221815.png

pCARS like AC gets more mods than AMS2 because it's a finished product and there's no updates to break a mod... Mods keep games alive well past their use by date...

And a majority of people prefer arcade games...

So the fact that it's even shows that a large portion, if not the majority of sim racing enthusiasts have already left pCARS 2 for AMS2...

Just knocked up a quick graph from the monthly average players over the last 2-3 years. Pcars2 in blue and AMS2 in orange.

AMS2 has definitely grown as Pcars2 shrank, so maybe a fair few moved across but definitely not the majority.

give them all tracks and cars from PC2 and the playerbase will go down a bit faster.
For me tracks like willow springs, LeMans, Knock Hill, BANNOCHBRAE, Sugo , Dubai and some others are essential :)
AMS2 started 3 years ago from the original source code of the last released PC2.
Reiza constantly made it better and catched many bugs the community is aware in PC2.
And as we see, Reiza still is fixing bugs that SMS constantly committed, there are none.
Yes, Reiza is slow and most time late, but SMS dropped PC2 after a year. Reiza didn't!

PC2 was like buying a shiny looking house, and as you get in and live some months there, you'll find tons of little things that are just painted shiny but you'll have to call the plumber, electrician, carpenter and other specialists day by day

PC2 has more GT3 variety. More people only drive GT3. More people drive PC2. Ive figured it out.

^ does implicitly suggest that reiza could make a lot of money selling the new generation of GT3 as a dlc pack. (Coincidentally the same cars that make up the rennsport beta)
