Up to 34°c apperently, but who knows? Apparently Renato is the cause of Europe's heatwave so he might have powers we don't yet understand

Sorry, sir... you were supposed to be right, but some apostate had the idea to kill the romance:

Race Car Air Conditioning - Lightweight Air Cooling System for Racers - Circle Track Magazine

For the same reason that you need to psychologically police our forum colleagues and I need to do a unlaughable joke about your post... it's because of cosmic synergy... plus a collective state of boringness... and some love... and hate... and despair... we all live in a giant soap opera.

Only if you work with a dishonest supermarket

    Again. In bold.

Not complaining about the lack of patch or dev diary.

What we're (or at least I) asking for, is a quick line on the forum or Twitter or somewhere to say where we're at. If you don't care about it that's fine, but simple acknowledgement and a quick status update.

I don't care if the actual diaries or the patch is a month away. I don't want Reiza's guys to burn out trying to rush through things on a weekend. But the solution to people asking for an update isn't to stop doing any sort of communication or updates in future and ignore your customers; it's to find a form of communication that does fit into the work schedule.

Edit: there are some non-specific answers on Twitter:

Is there a reason these can say "we're aiming for within the next few days/weeks/months but we'll let you know not"?

"There's loads going on the beta forum" doesn't really cut it when there's no way to see that forum for people who are interested. Maybe it should be opened up on a read-only basis so people who want to know what's going on can?

Apologies for clogging up the forum; I just want to emphasise that (personally) I'm not asking for the blog or the patch, just for a quick update on the current ETA for them. But when saying this, the response on the forum is often "stop asking for the patch/blog".

Anyway, I'm off to catch up with Spa 24 Hours; goodnight all!

I like being hyped for these updates.
I am always here just for fun, to hang out and wait for it to drop.
    No pressure.

Don't take it personally as my original post wasn't aimed at anyone specific. Also, you seem to be misunderstanding my post too.

We all know Reiza's work ethic and that they're getting things done, sooner or later (more often the latter though).
My point was that Reiza always aims at end of month release and every single month many folk are upset that the update is "late" because a bugfixes are requyor some fine-tuning or polishing. So my suggestion was to ditch the regular updates and get releases out when the feature/content is ready rather than a fixed timescale trying to squeeze as much stuff there. We'd still get the same title in the end, but the journey would be less regular, sometimes we'd get update after a couple of weeks, sometimes way over a month, sometimes after a month. But the factor for the release should be the feature readiness, not the calendar.

In the end we're talking about a couple of different solutions to the same problem where one doesn't exclude another. Peace :)

I'm with you, thanks for patiently explaining :) Completely agree with that, makes a lot more sense than rushing for a self-imposed deadline.

Reiza should have adopted the Marco Massarutto method of communicating content release dates from the start. When asked, his answer was "Soon". The closer the release date, the more 'o's there were. "Soon" could mean a few weeks, "Sooooooon" could mean a few days, but it was never specific enough for people to complain about missed deadlines.

Or it's a good time to catch up on races on TV. Currently binging Nitro RX Sweden and then onto the IndyCar race I missed today.

I think the update following a fixed timescale doesn't have anything about squeezing stuff together as much as possible. That's a way to keep things organized and get more time to test everything before releasing to the public.

Note that the task of packing the game and sending updates to the Steam server is another job too. Writing patch notes and interacting with the community more often about the current candidate version could lead to more time making new builds of the game and testing it instead of fixing bugs, implementing new stuff, and creating new content.

In short, I think the decision of making the updates/fixes weekly/monthly has more to do with how the team interacts with the project and gets the tasks done than a simple wish. :)

The reason Reiza aim for end of month releases is the same one as 2 years ago. Money. Getting a patch out end/start of month allows to maximise sales since most people get paid that time. I don't see them having fun crunching away but they do it so the company can keep growing, which before used to be "to keep going" so their metrics probably support their release model/timing.

Was playing on my Retropie on my CRT TV. 2 hours later.. Had so much fun getting achievements in Aladdin on the GBA. Already mastered it on the SNES, but GBA has different achievements. Need a better CRT TV, through. Oh the joy. Simracing, retrogaming, crtgaming. What a fun hobbies!
