If full course yellows are added (and I really hope they will be), they would I guess be optional - so no need for you to worry.

Ovals without full course yellows would be a big missed opportunity imo. Indianapolis 500: The Simulation had them implemented, what.. 33 years ago? - makes a huge different in terms of realistic/interesting/dynamic race strategy.

No--high banking vs low banking, shorter vs longer track, old bumpy surface vs new smooth surface, and turns 1/2 usually have a different shape from 3/4 (unless we get Pocono in which case there's only 3 turns, LOL).

It is lot more precise form of driving.

Plus, if you're doing a longer oval race (1+ hours), you're really going to want a bit of a break. Particularly with the CART cars, it will be a little intense.

a 1h+ race is not a 1h+ race if there is a break inbetween. ;)

They could just do it like NASCAR games where once the caution comes out it skips to pit stops than skips again to right before the restart.

How would that play out online? Start, 5 seconds racing, skip to pits, skip to restart, 5 seconds, skip to pits, skip to restart, 5 seconds racing, skip to pits..:p

Nope, ams2 ought to simulate having to pit and doing everything a real driver must do during this time

If tire warming/cooling is done right, safety car periods are exciting times. Ask Romain Grosjean.

We are using JustRace.net and dont have any issues,we have people with pings fairly low, in the 20 to 70 range, that may have something to do with it

JustRace is seriously underrated. It may not be as *aesthetic* as Simracing.gp, but the post-session detail it gives is more on par with iRacing post race debriefs. Still wish we could save practice and quali replays...

Neither Part 1 or Part 2 had historic tracks*, so I wouldn't assume Part 3 does either.

That said, the Steam page says "modern and historical", so there's definitely some scope in there I guess...

*Edit: originally write 'content' which is obviously wrong!

yeah, but they are developing a new UI on JustRace, which makes it look a lot better as well, and yes, they are seriously underrated, not only in the sims that can be used on their platform, but also the personal approach in terms of them providing support whenever needed is a very nice bonus.

Totally agree on the saving of practice and qually replays, i really hope ams2 gets that option, or even better, an auto save replay option, so you cant forget to save it.

Part 2 was entirely focused on historical content, just saying (1995-2000 AOWR)

It's a whole different world with a different skill set. Short track is the most similar to traditional road racing, and the field will spread out a bit more.

Superspeedways (anywhere you don't have to lift) are all about traffic and the slipstream. My favorite experience from iRacing ovals was just street stocks at Charlotte stuck in a pack of 10 cars, 2 wide trying to stick the low line while the tires slowly get more sketchy. Any slight slip can mean the "big one" and you have to respect your fellow drivers or else half the field is done.

I strongly agree, and AMS2 has been very much the quiet achiever in this department.
I'd encourage everyone to turn damage up to 200% and see AMS2 damage at full flight.

Along the same lines, I'm really looking forward to these features:

I looove the concept of a crash having longer lasting consequences than simply hitting the 'return to pit' button. Most sims gloss over the concept of risk at this level, and it will be great to see it simulated in AMS2.

    Thanks for the update Renato!
