License too expensive or exclusive to Sony. If I am correct. Or was it Pikes Peak? Hmmmm.

I remember reading a comment from Renato where he wrote that licensing for Le Mans wasn't as expensive or exclusive as is often claimed on this forum.
The most recent time Renato commented on the issue was in this thread, back in July. Link
    To summarize: No news.

I'm aware about VR & motion rigs, but I didn't know there were racing rigs that simulate smell. :)

LeMans would actually not be the game's most expensive license track license they can license it. They just haven't, we're probably going to have it at some point since Renato stated nothing prevents them from making it, it's not too expensive but he said that AMS2 "still needs certain things" (whatever that is) before they do it. If he has also been teasy for a while when people ask about it so they most probably already have plans but they aren't going say anything for at least until the current season pass is done.
Also stated they are not going to make a generic version, it's too big an undertaking to make so they are going to want to advertise it using it's name.
Don't forget that Reiza has it's hands full with the seasons pass, they still have more DLCs to release than months to release them in.

TLDR: it's probably going to happen, just not anytime soon.

It's Pikes Peak for GT yeah, afaik the only exclusivity licensing Le Mans has is the Virtual 24h on rFactor2, but as long as they don't do anything like that it should be fine.

Nope. No exclusive for the track only for the LM24 virtual event and Renato already said other tracks in AMS2 have the same cost for license

Just to (re)confirm, there's still one more 'premium track' to be added as part of the season pass DLC sometime, right?

Yes but I would not count on it being LeMans

I will say the Reiza Twitter account has been caught teasing Lemans a couple times now

I have a feeling the last premium track will probably be something pretty out of the blue, we've already got most of the big tracks and excluding Le Mans I could see Reiza padding out the track variety with a modern Tilkedrome like COTA or some other current grade 1 track (Zaandvort, pretty please?)

Could it be that those things missing are more cars that would fit Le mans? There is GT1, that has 3 models, wich is ok, will be 4 soon, would be ideal if the Panoz showed up too, but nothing to do a proper multiclass race with it, DPI, just one model and if you close your eyes a bit it will pass for a LMDH and you can multiclass it with GT3 and GTE with no problems. It's ok now, but could be better.

We are missing two big names: Le Mans and Indianapolis.

"A decrease in engine displacement (by shortening the piston stroke) from six to five liters optimized the package in accordance withthe FIA’s engine size-to-weight equivalency formula" sounds awfully specific to be mixing up a V8 and a V12 engine.
And the official Le Mans program with all entries technical data? Several other pretty credible sources (that don't just google their data or look at a wiki-page) as well?
But anyhow, shouldn't be relevant for AMS2 anyway since it is depicting the FIA GT series.
