Does anybody know what happened to the 3d trees? They were mentioned a few months ago.

This is what Renato said in the march dev update: “The development of Historic Bathurst include the addition of 3D trees in more immediate trackside surroundings also for the modern track, replacing the rotating 2D trees that could look a bit awkward especially in VR mode - this over time will also be done to other tracks with trees close to trackside.”

We're 19 version numbers away from 1.5 and there's zero chance it's going to be out in June.

Historic 60s Monza needs this desperately on the left hand side of the track starting from 1st corner until the bridge going underneath the oval.

There doesnt have to be a 1.4.8.2 and 1.4.8.3 etc. Im pretty sure they can just go to 1.5 if they want. But yeah June not looking likely.

I think saying 19 would be something of a stretch accounting for Reiza's typical build number scheme (1.x.y.z), I'd wager we're only about 5 or 6 at most assuming Reiza doesn't skip 1.4.9 and go straight to 1.5 given they usually only give updates about a .1 or a .2 on the end for hotfixes/changes and then release the next one (see 1.4.8.1, the current one or 1.4.7.2, the previous one for instance)
The June part does seem like that would be the case though, I agree but that's Reiza for you, I suppose. We'll see :p

Reiza's versioning scheme leaves a bit of wiggleroom. It's mostly based on change significance, but with a little bit of semantic versioning sprinkled in. Don't read too much into it :)

The version numbers are still used in the beta and development (I believe) so the next public version will be V1.5, but there will be 19 releases before that and some of them will be in beta

Surely you must include the 1972-'74 LeMans winning Matra 670!

I guess it's a matter of how Reiza tackles this, which is often limited by what's available to them.

1972 was the year when I would say that today's layout began to take shape, with Ford Chicane made double and Porsche Corners were built. Bugatti track was already there. If 72 is the target, then yes these cars would make the most sense! But then, Reiza has gone anachronic before. Do not be surprised if we get a 1975 version with these cars, or mismatched with Group 5, or a 1979 layout, or whatever. Depends on what year has the best source of data to draw from.

I have a feeling that the internal beta (not the one basic club members have) is on a version higher than even the regular beta and not all get released so I doubt we are expecting 19 updates.

Having said that, history has taught me you'd be very unwise to bet that Reiza will meet their deadlines on anything.

I hope Reiza will revise the "balance" of some of the existing categories in the game as it can lead to some rather frustrating scenarios.

For example in Formula Vintage Gen. 2 the generic V12 "Model 2" car is several seconds a lap faster than any other car in that category, even though the V12 powered Ferrari and BRM of 1969 finished on the bottom of the constructors championship and they were generally slower in qualifying than the Lotus, Brabham or the V8 powered Matra.

I can 2nd this here. It has the side mirrors on each side of the car but it looks like they are both using the right side view....or left side, can't remember. Something is a bit funky with them though.

It's the same for Porsche. Producing and selling cars it not where the companies profit is made.
