The F-Junior is like a mix of a Cooper and a Lotus from the early 1960s. Adorable car. I guess the F-Vintage Gen1s are 1967 cars, and the Gen2s are 1969-1970-ish, maybe 1971 if you stretch it a bit.

We have two versions of Silverstone 1975 but no tracks earlier than 1970.

An odd thing about PC and AMS2: When picking a race date you can't set the year earlier than 1970. In PC2 you could only do it by editing the track info file. Once in the game, if you change the day/month, the year defaults to 1970.

thanks for correcting me about Silverstone I thought we had older layouts

Another question ain’t the minis and the lotus in vintage touring cars class older than 70’s as well?

So is the very earliest GP car class.

For me though, even though '60s is my favourite era, I hope they stick to '70s and later for AMS2 just to avoid widening the scope too much.

Yeah i forgot about the 60s cars in ams2, i would add f-vintage is also late 60s.

But all the tracks are post 1970 and the earliest date selectable is 1970 as written above.

The one 60s track we could hope for would be goodwood, which hasnt changed much since the 60s (so in-scope) and would fit with a lot of the vintage cars

I'm hoping sometime they'll add in the mid 60's F1 cars, I know pCars 2 has the Lotus 25 Climax, would love to see that come to the game.

I want to bring up a small pet peeve of mine that has sprung up recently as I've learned around motorsports history.

Grand Prix does not equal Formula 1 or any other open wheeled race car.

It just denotes (or is supposed to denote) the highest paying race at a venue. Be that for Open Wheeled "Grand Prix" cars or for More Traditional Sports cars. (And of course motorcycles too.)

All the way up until the 1970's, there was a ton of GP's held for Sports cars, but then the FIA decided to make F1 their biggest draw and changed the definition to the biggest races in a state or country.

Now like a lot of words, Grand Prix has lost all meaning and is used for basically anything related to a race car, or F1 exclusively. I love seeing on Twitter when people start mocking and complaining that Indycar calls some of their races the GP of (x) completely ignoring IMSA, Super GT, Super Formula, Nascar and many others do the exact same thing.

The reason I bring this up, and the context of this argument. The Lotus 23B would indeed be the oldest car to take part in a Grand Prix, but it's also not a car built for a Grand Prix...

Also, Please tell me its going to get some more sparing partners eventually. Literally, I'll take anything for the Vintage TC classes!

American Football originally came from Rugby Football… The ‘FIA’ of English Rugby, is called the RFU(Rugby Football Union)… just saying. :D

This. I prefer decent content saturation within certain eras over having a bit of everything all over the place.

Maybe some day in the future there will be a race sim focusing on pre-aero stuff and early '70s racing. Or maybe in a few years we can just ask a chatbot to make such a game exactly to our liking.
