Agree. FV10 gen 2 to me already is one of the greatest car in Sim racing and it's the one I'm really looking forward to get the new update. V10 Gen 1 on the other hand always felt strange to me, the one car that I really feel the "shopping cart" sensation that some people talk about. But I trust on the developers and I know they will improve it when the time comes.

For me it was the opposite.

Gen1 always felt like a real car, whilst Gen2 was crazy floor it in any position you want ridiculousness - an arcade car.

Because Gen 2 was TC era. Forgiven? Yes. Arcade level? Absolutely not, especially on low speed corner exit.

Gen 2 WERE arcade level in real life too. TC, monster power, lots of grip.

LOL.. Heck some of the records from Schumy in 2002 and 2004 lasted 10+ years sometimes even more.

Yep, and like we all know on grooved tires, even though I would not be surprised if those tires had similar grip as the current Pirellis, thanks to the tire war between Michelin and Bridgestone.

Watching the 2004 cars on Sepang felt like they where on fast forward, you don't get that same sensation any more, even though the current cars are faster, they gain most of their speed due to DRS and their insane straight line speed, or maybe they are just so big that they look slower on camera :D.

The vehicles back then were a lot lighter - this makes them insanely agile and also lively over bumps compared to todays hybrid vehicles, then the engine sound and the "leaning" on traction control on throttle also gives this sensation of the car running more rapid...at the end they were insanely rapid though. In comparison it's a small technological miracle how well todays cars are dealing with the figures they're facing actually.

Nope it was confirmed that with slicks they would run even faster by a run on a 2003 W illiams

hey @Renato Simioni, since we are about to reach a milestone in the development of AMS2 (one of many), have you considered creating a special streaming event? We are all here informed of how things are going, but outside of this forum maybe not so much. I think it would be very good to make AMS2 visible to all those people who don't come here.
I imagine you don't have much time, but it would be a great opportunity for your simulator to be in a live event with people from the team. Maybe a round of questions and answers...:p
Jokes aside, this simulator is missing two things: a multiplayer section that works well and greater visibility on the content platforms. I suppose the first will have to be fixed, in order to correct the second, but it would be a good start if the team broadcast from time to time or at key moments like the V1.5 launch

There will only be one 1.5 update and not 2 parts. The dev update report was split into 2 parts but not the 1.5 game update.

I normally don't use the arcade word because it means nothing. Look at your video and you will notice how little drama on the steering wheel for a car that is putting down roughly 850-900 hp. How the car surfs over the Variante Alta kerbs like nothing. You couldn't do anything like that in any subsequent generation of cars.
They were light, powerful, had very advanced suspensions that today are forbidden, TC (first concealed as an anti-knock device then fully legal), pretty advanced aero especially towards the end of their generation, tires were seriously pushed to the max through advanced research from manufacturers competition. Refueling was still allowed which meant some cars couldn't load more than 80-100 L making most of the races like extended qualis and cars even 200+ kg lighter than the current gen on occasion.
The 2001-2005 generation of F1 cars (and even up to 2008) was bonkers fast and stuck to the ground. It's just undeniable. And the proof is the longevity of many of their records despite running grooved tires.
Try and do the same with any post 2010 generation of F1.

Grooved tires actually have an advantage: They tend to be less "edgy" than full slicks which also helps with the "calm" handling while still riding an insanely agile rocket.
