Whats great about seta according to the article is that the flatspots arent canned like in other sims, they are just a natural consequence of the rest of the model. (Emergent effect according to the article).

The truth is that seta was over-engineered for project cars (i.e. criminally under-used) and reiza are only beginning to open pandoras box….

 

It is very aggressive for some cars on v1.5, but the vibration comes through the FX ffb slider that most people wrongly turn to nought. I might do some back-to-back testing with rF2 on that though.

 

ppl i know turn it to zero mostly to remove the constant vibrating when cornering from the scrub effect

Thats mainly because when they did start using it everyone screamed so they took it out or toned it down to almost nothing. Funny how everyone wants as realistic as possible...

 

PC in early state was actually a pretty serious racing sim. They actively washed physics to make ir approachable by the mainstream. That is in part why it is still popular.

Hardcore racing sims were a nitchy genre. Still are, to a point, but we are living probably in a golden era. The global pandemic was actually a great booster.

PC could be great, but it failed as a racing sim for various reasons. Reiza is polishing the rough diamond that the engine was, fortunately.

Edit: physics are not everything, though. I've played the F1 games and while they are horrible physics-wise, the inmersion is impressive. To simulate a race you must simulate everything, not just physics.

Reiza is ambitious and constatantly adding small QoL and immersive features. I remember a project cars dev stating in the forums that they won't implement full course cautions because "while users ask for them, they are actually wrong, they do not want them" (??). Not saying a word about pc3... PC series were a shade of what they could, not just physicswise.

 

Hehe, I've set FX as high as 90% (Default+).

 

most of the PC2 features were half baked and buggy to begin with so in hindsight it was probably for the best that feature was never implemented.

 

People are hype as f..k just for the dev update, Imagine on the day of the 1.5 update, the internet will break!!!

 

When a new dev update drops: (pick one)

1. Make a drink/coffee, stay comfy, and take the time to read it
2. Rush through the images and close the page.

 

Yep. AMS2 updates and Kimmy K's butt. Pretty much the same levels of hype.

The update is gonna be late, due to the surprise announcement of the official license ever for F1 biggest competitor.

 

Chocolatiers fan here; this season is a disaster.

 

I hope there is no log storing how many times I refreshed Renato's profile today. Otherwise I can not blame anyone if the interpol knocks my door.

 

I normally last 5 seconds. I’m not used to waiting this long…”refresh refresh refresh” thumbs are starting to twitch on their own in the direction of scrolling down lol..

 

From the known release pattern from Reiza, it makes sense to come during the day.
I think night releases may not engage as much as around midday... I don't know.

 

To be fair, as some have said before here, he said 24h Reiza hours, not Earth time..
