Luckily I'm old enough not to care about punctuation.

Soon: “Just a note to let everyone know July will borrow a few days from August for Pt2 of this dev update, but from there it shouldn’t be a long wait to v1.5 release." ;)

    Subsequently: Forum explodes

Ok, I’m not one to speculate......

But this delay can mean only one thing.

Renato has made so much money from AMS2, that he’s retiring in Hawaii.
The partnership mentioned a few weeks ago is actually Ian Bell taking over Reiza and getting the Madness Engine back under one roof.
Straight4Studios is a cover for the above.

    Tell me I’m wrong

Kunos is the most overrated team in Sim Racing. AC had barely anything compared to PC2 for example, and the community made the game what it is today, ACC is also not such a huge achievement, its one class of cars, half the tracks were already in AC, and the visuals need so much fiddeling to get a decent image (Unreal Engine to blame).

With Reiza, i think they do great, but Renato really gives it a bad look at times with all those delays and "the dog ate my homework" explanations.

Yeah, on the brighter side of that I'm looking at lots of time off mid-summer and doing a system build this weekend that will hopefully, once and for all, take care of performance woes with transitions to nighttime and/or VR smoothness and consistency in certain scenarios. Be all the more sweet when it eventually does roll out.

+1 on this. Marketing and enrolling streamers plus COVID at the right time blew their success out of a reasonable proportion based on what the sim actually is "technically" speaking.

I completely understand why the actual 1.5 update may not be available for another week or two. However, I would think that the development update text should have been ready a while ago. If there are things still in flux then all we need is a note telling us that and we can all relax.

I've learned to generally ignore any timeframes either stated or implied when they come from Renato because of things like this. But for whatever reason, this time I'm really excited at least to read the dev update.

Tried ACC a few times and never could work out what all the fuss was about.

True, Renato really needs to be more careful with his use of the words "few more days" and "incoming", especially with hundreds of excited, impatient sim racers chomping at the bit!

LOL. That is the accurate degree of relevance of historic track advertisements to licensing of cars in the game. In case the humour is not clear, it = zero.

Ian Bell taking over Reiza would mean the end of AMS2. Just look at what happened to the PCars games, how quickly they were abandoned and all the issues that were left unfixed. Personally I'd rather let Reiza do their own thing and leave Ian Bell out of it.
I've been playing PCars2 & AMS2 regularly lately, while not perfect AMS2 is considerably better than PCars2 in several areas, it shows what the Madness engine is capable of and it makes SMS look even worse for abandoning the PCars games and leaving stuff unfixed.
