There is the possibility. IIRC you can have up to 5 user profiles

 

You could also look at this simhub plugin - unlike the in game profiles, you can change wheels mid session. Control Mapper plugin

 

You can have a profile for each rim saved in game. There are 5 slots.

But you have to restart the game to switch wheels I have found. Unless someone knows an in-game work around besides using simhub.

EDIT: I use a simucube base with usb or wireless rims. The game will not reset the rims when I change....even though I have the diff rims saved to diff profiles in game. So I have to restart the game when I change rims in game. But my simucube will always stay set with steering ability as it never changes So my situation is different than others.

I'm not sure if this is normal and don't know if there is a fix for this problem?

Strange, I can hotswap my wheels ingame and they keep working (Moza R9), just have to remember to switch controller profile for the button mapping to work.

 

I have edited my above statement to note my setup which causes this issue for me.

 

It's normal in the sense AMS2 can't pick up new controllers that are connected once the game has started. That's what works so well with the Simhub plugin - all AMS2 sees is the bridge controller, which is always connected.

Some time ago we were so excited and hyped before update release, eagerly counting down the minutes and seconds. But now, as almost everyone transitioned to the beta part of forum, the atmosphere here has become noticeably quieter. I must admit, I'm feeling a sense of nostalgia for those lively pre-update moments. PS: I look forward to the new update

This is true and I tend to agree.
On the other hand, for the "readers" like myself, amongst tens and tens of complaining nonsense posts, there was here and there a post from a dev giving a small update, a hint, a leak, that kept the interest and the hype at the top.
The image given by the public forum in these days is quite on the "phantom/abandoned city" side, which is a pity. I truly cannot wait to read about the new findigs on the madness engine and the related physics and tyres parameters updates.
