With a sequel to the 2005 Endurance Pack confirmed, all I can hope for is that a V12 Milano will join the reign!

 

It's amazing how every update brings a huge amount of content, even if it takes a while, it's worth it, but I confess I'm more anxious for the DTM 2000s, BTCC and Hungaroring, God willing they'll come this year.

Concerning the new qualification formats: is there infomation on whether the current format (Q1,Q2,Q3) is going to be implemented some time, too?

 

I like more formula cars, and like even more the passion that Reiza have about formula cars and AI, because I like more MP races, but in formula cars is almost Impossible to have a decent race against humans in sims. Every Monaco weekends remind me this.

So many historic tracks, that is a very welcome surprise. Not a big formula fan, but for the upcoming career mode it's insane that AMS2 will feature basically something of all eras. And official licenses for historic F1 is even more insane and something I never thought could have done.

Overtake just released an article with more details that aren't mentioned here:

• McLaren MP4/16 for V10 G2
• Hungaroring will also launch with this patch as the 2025 version
• Custom BOP via JSON file will be added for multiplayer and singleplayer and can even added to certain Steam IDs and AI drivers (which basically is BOP for liveries)
• Parc fermé will only be available for singelplayer for now, but could added to mp later too
• More early v1.7 physic update
• Overhaul of intermediate and wet tyres for many classes
• AI improvements in rainy weather

I hope Reiza can finally figure fix the old bug that when a mp session allows non-authentic driving aids that they automatically turn on even if you drive with authentic settings.

 

I hope to be able to save races in the Endurance sequel-pack. This is a vital missing component of endurance racing. Not many people are going to take part in a 12 hour race in single player.

Endurance racing in single player is my favourite aspect of AMS2, one thing I'd really like to see added is the ability to watch the race from the monitor while your AI teammate is driving your car and you're in the garage taking a break.

 

I've always loved the various open wheelers and Formula cars in AMS2, so to hear we're getting more is just the icing on the cake. Amazing work!

Anyone know if the F1 cars will be a DLC like the tracks or will it be free to everyone. My mind keeps thinking about this.

 

It hasn't been stated explicitly in this case, but it's usually the case that generic non-brand content is part of the base content, and licensed content is DLC content. The major exception to that is the South American content which is part of the base game.

 

The previous (or one of) update stated that Reiza aims for a version of saving progress (with limitations - not specific on what) for v1.7. So not this update but hopefully sometime this year if their dev plan pans out.

This get's close to being off the topic, but I just have to say I don't think it's true that you can't have good races with formula cars in MP. I have done now 14 races on LFM on F-Hybrid gen1 (30 lap races) and I haven't had single bad one. Sometimes I'm just amazed how we can drive and survive on those speeds and still able to react and adjust without crashing when even small difference in braking points can lead to rear ending very easily on those cars (Monza T1 was probably the most difficult in this regard). There have been also some great, very IRL F1 style battle on those races in those races. I guess it helps a little bit that there is a reporting system and your SR/ELO on the line + bunch of people who actually want to drive those cars for longer races and try to respect others (and it's not even a league).

I would stay far and away from open lobbies with those cars though.

 

It's amazing how much I learned about the different eras of Formula 1 and motorsports in general since I started AMS2 for the very first time (I was just looking for new VR games). Thank you Reiza for respecting the sports history and always striving to deliver the most immersive experience possible including rule sets, soundscape and trackside details. AMS2 continues feeling like a real passion project and I am soo glad it brought me into this incredible hobby.
