Long term it is probably better to cut loose the one that is blocking all the other ones. As said, there are livery mods already in place.

@Renato Simioni I feel sorry for you guys. But I will say the same as i said last week before it was moved and in my mind shoved under the carpet.

Is there any news to share about a possible return of the paddock club with also a financial way of supporting Reiza attached to it? I say this as a, i am a Reiza fan. b, I want to financially support you guys even tough i already have all the dlc and c, because I think especially now with this setback it would be a good time for Reiza to have some extra support.

I think a lot of people are interested in joining in. I know a few from my community who gladly would use this opportunity. So I think this should really be considered by Reiza.

Jeeeeez what a headache... I hope this can be resolved with minimal compromise having to be taken on your side.
I don't see why this is suddenly an issue for McLaren when you've had their cars alongside Lotuses and Brabhams for years now. Is it something to do with the Renault deal that's got them skittish?

But anyway what I'm seeing is drop the Renaults as freebie base game content for as long as possible and release a "2000s open wheelers" pack that is just the generic cars to go alongside the Renaults.

My wallet is ready for this and any future packs. (And potential paddock club openings? :p)

Either way, no matter the outcome, I'm excited to drive whatever we end up getting :D

Absolutely. I would use every opportunity to support Reiza in this mess, they are not responsible for. I would even just donate Money, if that is possible somehow.

I personally dont mind driving generic open wheelers. The key thing is that they are fun to drive. And with the ongoing discussion over Single Player car BoP modification with the json-files coming in, we can easily do a custom tweaking on these generic cars so that they behave like the real ones in the meantime. Regardless, we all are eagar to drive what you have in store for us Reiza. You all have our support!

Would it be possible for Reiza to release a "DLC" that's just like a desktop wallpaper pack or something which would allow people to pay some money to support the team, given the F1 pack is now going to be free? I'd definitely like to support.

Appreciate the honest update, and making the Renaults free is almost certainly too generous, but I will enjoy the gift :hurrayreiza:

Giving the Renaults for free is too much of a gift Renato. As I understand it its a way to ensure that everyone owning the game will be keeping them even after they would eventually get disabled so I can only thank you for that. As others have already said, there are many among us who would love to support the project even further and are awaiting for the possibility to do so.

From Renato's post: "Let me highlight again that existing users would not be affected by this - content already owned will remain available exactly as it is today."

That's a really tough position to be at. If McLaren is the only one with such a clause, then for future opportunities such as Mercedes, Ferrari, even Red Bull (a man can only dream) dropping the one causing the conflict would be the best decision from a player perspective. I was looking forward for the DLC and thanks for the free Renault, but I would have gladly pay for it like probably most of the people here. Looking forward to the Devs update pt2 and see what surprises the team has for us.

I'm assuming this is only isolated to F1 cars, not other race series cars like Can-Am, GT1 and GT3 etc??

I am very sorry for this major setback, and Renato's sincerity and transparency are greatly appreciated.

I 100% agree with the comments regarding the release of a DLC pack, whatever its content, that would allow those of us who wish to do so to financially support REIZA, given all the hours of enjoyment this great simulator provides.
For me, what motivates 99% of my time in the game is driving the McLaren F1 cars from the 80s and 90s (Retro, Classic, Hi-Tech). While I understand that I wouldn't lose them, it's disheartening to think that in the future these cars might be excluded from the physics improvements they receive with each update. I hope a way can be found for them to continue evolving so we can enjoy them to the fullest.
Renato thank you, and you have our full support.

I can only take my hat off to your humanity.

That is the truth: sometimes in life, storms come while our ship is at sea, and we have to hold on and weather the storm until it subsides.

This world would be a much better place with human beings like you; thankfully, thanks to God, every day there are more people who want a better world. Let’s take it step by step, so we don’t stumble and fall.

And getting back to the topic at hand, it’s a privilege to be able to play AMS2 knowing what goes on behind the scenes, how you care for and pamper your customers—who, from what I can see, aren’t just customers but friends who enjoy this wonderful game.

Your work is commendable, and that shows in the quality of the final product.

P.S. I know what it takes to make a game—programming, modeling a car, drawing the textures, designing and finding the right sound for the car, and above all, the headache of physics, not to mention all the details that go into it.

As an example—and interestingly, since they’re releasing the Renault Formula series—I created the Renault R24 for Assetto Corsa, which is the 2004 Formula 1 car driven by Fernando Alonso :)

I regret hearing about this potential loss of income to your firm - but thank you for putting your client base first by bringing us the Renaults, even if at a loss.

Just in case you’re looking for user input Renato, here’s mine for what it’s worth: if it is McLaren Racing that decided to play hardball all of a sudden and is taking the stance that we either only have their F1 cars (along with other models) or no McLarens at all, I say drop them like it’s a hot potato. And this from a big McLaren fan, only slightly behind Williams in my books.

I believe that there is far greater value in having a few F1 licensed cars than a single one. I mean, the math is pretty straightforward especially when they include the likes of Brabham and Lotus and now those lovely Renaut (still hoping for the Laguna down the road). Where I’d miss seeing McLarens in the game in the future, it shouldn’t come at the high cost McLaren Racing is demanding.

I highly suspect it has to do with their current F1 deal, so every other manufacturer currently in the F1 would have the same issue.
Just speculation but I doubt F1/Liberty Media/whoever is in charge of licensing would have such a clause with a specific manufacturer only.

Tbh, I don’t really need McLaren either. IMO, immersion comes more from replica liveries than from official cars.
Just look at the iRacing / Gran Turismo community—they’re having fun running Super Formula with F1-style liveries instead of using the official F1 car, which doesn’t even allow custom paint.
My point is that official cars don’t influence gameplay as much as people tend to think.
