As a person seriously stuck in the past I'm wondering how exactly this will work, but I understand the Lotus and Brabhams from F-Vintage Gen2 and onwards will (likely) become unavailable to newcomers, albeit replaced by generic models.

However, that means, at least in theory, new buyers would get to race against them online driving their generic counterparts, right? I'm not talking about fairness or anything like that - they are quite similar in performance anyway - it's more about how things will appear in-game.

Now, while we're at it, wouldn't this be a great opportunity to rework the numbering of those early formula cars as currently there are quite a few doublets?

For example in the F-Vintage Gen2 class we have a #3 Lotus and #3 Brabham, we have a #2 Lotus and a #2 Mod1 car, and the #15 and #16 Lotus share their numbers with two Mod2 cars.

In the F-Retro Gen1 class there's a #33 McLaren and a #33 generic V8, and so on. Nitpicky, I know, but you know the devil's in the details, right?

After testing all the new content, I gotta say that this update is a close contender for being the best AMS 2 update ever.
The cars sound fantastic across the board, especially that Milano V10, which is now also available in the 2001 F1 class. The BAR V10 is insane as well, really capturing that iconic high-pitched raspy sound profile.
Handling-wise, all cars are feeling great, but that has been applicable to all other cars for quite some time now.

The new DLC is... great. I thought the era-consistent makeovers of existing tracks would be cool but rather boring, but nope, they are absolutely fantastic.
I'm a huge sucker for Indy, and that F1 course has always been something I wished for in AMS 2.
The older Barcelona versions are beautiful, if not thanks to the absence of most trees that would otherwise block the view to that magnificent Spanish mountain view.
All tracks really manage to capture that late 90s, early 2000s feeling that is incredibly hard to put into words.

Sure, the licensing situation is a little bit of a setback, but given that Reiza has created a sim that people want to support, I see nothing but a bright future for these guys.
Me personally, I don't really care about licensed cars. As long as they look and sound the part, the rest can be "fixed" by the community with custom liveries and rosters.
Thinking how much content got added over the years, it's hard to believe that any other sim will be able to get close to AMS 2 within the next decade.
With more GT cars and new classes like classic DTM and touring cars in the works, I just can't wait to see what's next.

While I'm personally a huge fan of older F1 generations, I'm most hyped—a word I haven't used since the PS3 days—about the upcoming supplementary GT1 cars.
I'm hoping we won't just get the teased Milano + Lister Storm, but also the other V12 Milano and that 'murican V8.

Can’t wait for the 2005 Historical Endurance DLC to release later this month, the Lister Storm GT and new Milano look absolutely amazing! I’m really hoping we’ll get some additional GTs like the Saleen S7-R and Panoz Esperante GT-LM, as well as plenty of new LMP1 and LMP2 prototypes. Thank you so much and great work as always Reiza, I'm so glad to see my favourite era of endurance racing getting the love it deserves :D

A very good update this Month.

A few more new tracks would be better.
By the way, who holds the license for tracks and carmakers, which doesn't exist anymore?

Also, it would be great if Reiza can make a little adjustments for the F V10 Gen1 and F V10 Gen2.
F V10 Gen1 with some RPM lights would be great and for the F V10 Gen2 the cars are split in to 11 for mich and bridge, so one team drives both tires.
Most of the cars at this time drove Bridgestone. In my opinion, a change to 14 - 8 or 12-10 brings it closer to the original.

Apart from that, thank you for the great work.:)

They can't help but include the Saleen S7-R to complete the GT1 list. I haven't figured out yet whether they'll include the "Milano 550 Maranello" or the "575." The former won much more. It was one of the Saleen's main rivals. The 575 won little to nothing...

The 550 is in the files ? Ok, and do you find other new leaked files since 1.6.9.8 ?

Agreed, it would definitely be a welcome addition to the LMP1 class! I've also mentioned this in an older thread - my wishlist prototypes include the BMW V12 LMR, Cadillac Northstar LMP-02 (both of these seem like logical choices with the BMW and Cadillac LMDh cars already in AMS2), Courage C52, Dome S101, Nissan R391, Lola B01/60, and Reynard 02S in LMP1, and the Courage C65 (with multiple engine choices like an AER I4 Turbo, Judd V8, and maybe even a Mazda 3-Rotor) in LMP2. Really looking forward to the new GTs and prototypes the DLC will bring!
