Personally, I hope Detroit will be there. On the one hand, it is a circuit used by IMSA but also by Indycar. On the other hand, I would like to have more urban circuits in AMS2. Detroit is not my favorite (Toronto, St. Petersburg or Belle Isle seem better to me) but I will happily welcome it. Speaking of street circuits, Ribeiro Preto and Sao Paulo 2013 would be incredible.

    I agree.
But, for me, the cars don't feel like they really have a big plateau... the grip seems more like is constantly on a slope, but in a stable equilibrium - when it goes off center there is a tendency to put it back (they catch grip again when the higher tire surface temperature and stepper slip angle would suggest the opposite).
I much compare it to a V-shape commercial airplane wings (dihedral, auto-stable), when I expect a jet figther kind of behaviour (for reference, a modern jet fighter cannot be piloted without electronics systems ensuring flight stability). That's why racing cars are historically/mostly rear wheel drive - they are unstable (more agile) by nature.

The result is that always drifting/floating sensation we don't get on other sims, where we see more like a bigger plateau -> slight slope -> very inclined slope (super stable -> start to drift -> impossible to control drift).
Let's see what Reiza has for us in v1.6 :)

It was for Ferrari and even Porsche . Now it's not that difficult. Lambo in the other hands...

Wouldn't it be possible to have an option to host online custom championship, once the first race is finished the information is saved to the host PC, then the option to continue custom championship appears. So the next day/week the host chooses to continue, in the lobby the option says something like waiting for previous drivers/continue without previous drivers. Not really any different from the information saved in a offline custom championship apart from needing to save the id of any other drivers taking part.

Sounds easy but its probably more difficult than that.

Is it not still possible to cheap out on/skip exclusivity deals with licenses by licensing the whole series (which Reiza have done with IMSA)? I remember distinctly SimBin skirting around Porsche's former wedlock with EA and Ferrari's...being Ferrari by getting the license for FIA GT as a whole with GTR1/2, I could see Reiza pulling a similar trick

There are no licencing tricks. You get what you pay for (not someone else in the past or related) and only if the vendor is willing. For example, the Indycar fiasco where they got into legal wrangling with a vendor that resulted in them being uncomfortable to license the current Indycar to Reiza. Some licences are ridiculously expensive--either because a deep-pocketed publisher is/was willing to pay that amount and it sets a precedent, or, the vendor thinks exclusivity is a good thing and is happy to have fewer or only one licensee. Some vendors actually understand digital marketing in 2024 and want their products and brands represented (properly) as widely as possible and recognize that in a reasonable world, they would be paying for the product placement, not the other way around.

Reiza will do their best to get all important licences, just as they have in the past. Having a series licence helps a lot because all the related entities (tracks and cars in this case) already have some contractual relationship with the series and all have a mutual interest in seeing the series succeed. So, more likely to co-operate than if approached individually or "randomly." But even within this context, an individual entity could have a high opinion of themselves and not be satisfied with whatever other entities have already agreed to.

The leverage comes from the pov of “Hey your competitor has their car in there and everyone is using it , would you like to change that “

"We know our car/track is the best/most popular, so pay 5x the licence cost."

This is true. I’m a photographer at IMSA races at Road America and Road Atlanta and follow IMSA very closely. Close to no one gives a darn about the Detroit race.

People need to remember that for this kind of things, it's always negotiated.

Usually yes acquiring the license for the whole championship would grant you access to the participating cars, teams and venues. But this is in itself a right that the championship organizer has to negotiate with the participants. And from what it looks like it's not a right that IMSA has unlike presumably F1 and WEC do.
So the license Reiza got most likely just means they are allowed access to the IMSA branding, specific format for the number plates, position LED panels, etc that IMSA owns the right to.

But still that partnership also means that IMSA can participate and support Reiza with negotiations with car manufacturers, teams and venues. Meaning help convince them to negotiate in the first place, to accept licensing and get better conditions.

There is a group in the paddock pass club corner, but I'm alright with that too. I wanted to say more about MP vs SP, but I'll leave it at what I've written before.
    So, content speculation time:
I guess we'll get the entire GTD field. It would be weird to get a IMSA license but not complete the entire field/track roster. It will take some time, but I have every trust in Reiza they will succeed.
Maybe something great and special would be old versions of Sebring aswell as old version of Daytona. Why just give the special treatment to legendary European tracks and Saõ Paulo?

I at least won't be disappointed when DLC content gets delayed. I am just happy with what Reiza release. Sure, some people are longing for more dirt content via the adrenaline Pt 2 pack. I for one am looking forward to the historic Le Mans content. But I'll wait. I have enough to play with right now:)

I agree with Toronto. I walked to that circuit when I went on exchange to Canada. Found out like half a year later Indy raced there:D

Or Vauxhall, although I think Opel will be better because the current group A are DTM cars
