Automobilista 2 May 2024 Development Update - The Road to V1.6 Pt1

Out of curiosity, if anyone from Reiza could answer this (if it's within shareable information, of course) - Considering the IMSA partnership and the extension of the endurance roster in both the tracks and cars front, is there any interest from the studio and/or work being done into adding a driver swap feature to multiplayer? I know it's already possible with AI in singleplayer, but I believe that for endurance races this would be one of the best additions to multiplayer, just seems like there's so much potential building up on what's already a solid foundation here and I think it'd be pretty cool to do really long races with friends

 

For single player, I like this mid-stint race idea on Racedepartment.

 

I wonder if the F-USA 2022 livery folder is from when the real IndyCar was supposed to be added into the game before the license was dropped. Still having hope that one day it will be the actual car added into the game.

 

Interesting spot. I also spotted livery folders for the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and a trio of Lambos - Diablo GTR, Huracan GT3 and Supertrofeo. These could just be PCARS leftover files, but hope springs eternal...

EDIT: It gets a lot wilder looking at the .crd files, I spotted at least 3 cars that never appeared in any of the PCARS games - the Huracan Evo2, BMW M3 GTR and McLaren M8B!

 

If we get the M3 GTR I'm loosing my sh*t.

 

We have the Fog
the problem is that the weather forecast is off, meaning that it suppose to give fog details that affect the weather conditions no matter if it is just cloudy or even rain

the m3 GTR will not come on this update i believe it will only come when whe get a 2000's gt2 class

 

Thats something I wanted the most, something reasonable to use as multiclass for GT1.

 

Last year, we were told about a Nordschleife update (April 2023 Dev Log?) and later I think it was put on the back burner because of an ongoing resurfacing on the nords. Any update on that or is it indefinitely postponed?

 

I think it's postponed until further notice. I've seen no mention of it since then.

(Personally, I would prefer getting a 1990s layout of Nürburgring GP over the promised shine-up of the current AMS2 Nordschleife, despite me being a fervent reporter of the surface mesh innacuracies of the current Nordschleife…)

 

This post mentions McLaren M8B, which as far as I am aware is a CanAm car, are all my Chritmases coming together? I really hope so, as this opens the doors for the likes of Chapparals, Lola’s, Shadows, etc. WOW, WOW, WOW Bring it on

 

It‘s kinda sad that the Michael Schumacher S Banner is missing in the 24h layout. This is like the Senna Painting missing at Interlagos…

 

I think that car has been in the files for a long time

 

The main issue with weather in AMS2 is that you will never see a red flag, no matter how unracable the weather might become. AI won't bother for no visibility neither and no safety or pace car will be present.

I've gone through the DLC descriptions on Steam and want to suggest specific changes as many descriptions are outdated. Is this a good place to do that ?
I think updating the descriptions would be a needed change especially with the Steam Summer Sale coming up at the end of the month. I have a few friends who will definitely want to get some DLCs but they looked at them now and were very confused as to what includes what.

Ive suggested several times improvements to the DLC descriptions, but they dont gain a lot of traction. There have been some improvements over time. I think maybe Steam does not take kindly to rewording of DLC - maybe thats why its not being done. Thats my guess.

 

Speaking of new players, I would also suggest to update the demo.
