Its not. He wrote "confirmed" after what he considers confirmed

So far we have Road Atlanta and Sebring confirmed

At this point, do you guys think we just get the actual 1.6 update and update notes at the same time?

I know timelines change and delays happen, but we were told the update would be here by 9/15/2024, and that they were on track to be even earlier than that, right? I can’t find that update in these 187 pages but we are getting so close now it feels like it could all come at once.

I heavily doubt they're going to be done by the 15th... summer in most calendars ends at September 22 anyway.

For sure, I am purely going off the below post mentioning they were on track for making the mid-September window by “some margin”. I am all for taking the time to wrap it up nicely and doing it right, we are just getting so very close for two things (update to the update + the actual update) to happen with any gap between them.

You should always consider Reiza date communication as something they are aiming for, not something they promise. Meaning, don't hang on to the words end of summer so strongly and don't try to calculate a date.

You can even see Renato mentioning, its a "loose target". The term "loose" should already tell you calculating a date is silly.

I've been following this forum long enough to know that when Renato announces a date, even an approximate one, it is rarely met. That being said, I appreciate his contributions on the forum and can only agree with the 'it's ready when it's ready' approach.

Now, I think the dev update will come at the same time as the update itself, as it has happened quite a few times in the past, and I’m perfectly fine with that.

Totally off topic. Just had one of the best F1 g2 races online ever. We had a battle for P2 on Spa and it came down to the very last turn after 6 laps of pursuit. Both knew how to use ERS effectively on each part of track. Gap opened up a bit, just to get more narrow after the next corner. 6 laps of intense and clean racing.

Gues for me it’s time again to thank Reiza for putting this sim out into the world. It’s just amazing how much immersion you’ll get out of it with the right folks to race and the amount of details that’s put into it is just incredible.

    Keep on cooking guys!

I look at it like the Renault/Alpine 100 race plan. The difference is that Reiza will deliver eventually.

Considering the new physics, will 1.6 have a time trial leaderboard reset?

It must have a reset. Seeing as the physics will be different it would make no sense to keep the old times up since the way cars were (are at the moment) driven would differ, it would also make the custom setups used there useless too.

From racing and learning how to race in Geoff Crammond's Microprose Grand Prix 1 back in 1992 on my Ibm ps1 286 (10mhz, 512kb ram, 40mb hard drive, vga 256 & pc speaker running on Ms-Dos 5 and later 6....

    To a 4400ghz, 32gb ram, 2Tb Nvme, 2k, 5.1 surround running on windows 10 or 11 driving Reiza Automobilista 2.

I can easily put a picture in my mind of how it was back then and how it is now, remarkable, humbling and i wonder how it will be in 20 years from now. Full immersion and heavily expedited g-force simulation i guess. In any case, it is truly incredible what we are experiencing. Thank you :D

As a mark of how long it's been, I find so charming the fact that, for example, the Barcelona circuit layout from that game was, at the time, the modern layout (the circuit was also brand new). And now, it's considered a "historical layout", even though you can race it in both AMS2 and GP1 (in the browser!).

Mid-September is approaching. Already at the end of the week there is a designated deadline. There is a high probability that 1.6 was supposed to be released this weekend, but we have no prerequisites. Plus they talked about Part 3, but then there is no time left for it. Everyone is already very tired, the worst thing is when you know the date, but it is not confirmed. Most likely the update will be released in the 4th quarter of 2024. This is sad, in such cases it is better not to mention any dates at all, but immediately tell us: Release date: 2024.
