Racing School sounds like a nice idea, the tracks are all there - nothing speaks against copying Gran Turismo - but at least we need some achievements in the Game

 

I'm with you that with limited manpower the resources should be used on more important things.
But it should support newbies to enter the (more or less) serious SimRacing community....

 

Because it is not supposed to be a sales pitch but something to teach people the basics before heading online because i am willing to believe that most have no idea how blue flags work and how giving room to someone next to you works either. Just check most public random lobbies how people drive, this short tutorial with lessons would improve the experience for everyone seeing how it is mandatory to do stuff you will end up doing online a lot.

 

I don't think the behaviour in public lobbies is a consequence of lack of practice or experience. I believe it's lack of courtesy, common sense and education.

But you know, I could be wrong.

Well, I would like a driving school anyway, just because it is fun.

 

This effort would work well as DLCs. People who want it will buy it. It would be developed as part of AMS2, i.e., with its cars and tracks.

I might expect that GTR Evo may include this feature again.

 

Welp. Looks like I won't be missing the update while I'm in Indianapolis for the IMSA race, huh?

Nobody know we have no information about the devloppement

 

I personally hope that it is going this way. At this time this would be logical, at least I would be very happy with that. But we do not know if there are currently any unforseen obstacles for the devs. We have to wait.. In the end we all will get our treats

 

I would be very sad if the update comes out in December.

 

GT7 licences and specially the Mission Challenges are excellent and one of the best parts of the game for me. It would definitely be a welcome addition to any sim/game including AMS2.

 

I don't know, what I know is that I've been smelling flowers for 15 days...

 

I have actually made some private lobbies where i drove with a few people to teach them the fundamentals of driving along side someone through corners and how it changes the approach to the corner, passing through it, and exiting too.

With people who have all the courtesy and education, but without practice and several crashes first they have no idea what is going on, and without proper tools in place to teach people what is expected in the average passing scenario through a corner, they will never have any idea what they are doing wrong and what to do in order to improve unless someone takes them through the steps.

People talk all the time how they want open lobbies to be better - i believe this is the way, lock the multiplayer until the player learned the basics of driving with others through the appropriate tests. New to sim racing ? Perfect starting tool. Sim racing for many years ? Then you will just breeze through the tests anyway.

 

Can we please ban the terms "small dev team" or in this case "limited manpower" seeing as the team size is surely apropriate for the work required for the game, and also ban saying "resources should be used on more important things", because this forum is for people to suggest whatever they think would be a good thing for the game.

Or we can start spam replying "resources should be used on more important things." to everything and discourage possible improvements ? Also yes, there are about 10 000 000 things i can think of that are important, but that does not mean other things are any less important. Like how Kansai Classic is using the same incorrect thumbnail for 4 years now .

When I switched from grand turismo 6 to raceroom on pc in multiplayer...I can certify you that I made some howl in front of their screen thinking i was correct on the track.

Also consider that RL drivers do not simply sit around waiting for the next race. Lots of them jump from series to series and must learn how to drive a new car. Driving school might include learning the diff between driving a high down-force car versus less assisted versions, etc. I would love a lesson on dirt rally techniques, something very new to me.

Might also be something some modders who want to take it to the next level, with the blessing of Renato etal. Hint. Hint.

The other thing to mention is that career mode is SUPPOSED to launch in a few months. Sim racing is also about dreams.

 

Well, could be. I just have the impression people do it because... well, because yes, they do.

Anyway, I'd love a driving school. I had so much fun on GTR 2 driving school back in the day.

Also, I enjoy open lobby and usually can get away from the accidents. With time we develop a sixth sense on how to avoid it. If you are cautious on the first lap usually you can have a very good race after.

 

It won't be like real part 2, instead, Reiza will go full throttle !
