The only people who *really* know when 1.6 is likely to drop are those lovely chaps at Reiza, everyone else is just guessing, whatever they say.

Now, excuse me while i go drive the [REDACTED] at [REDACTED].

Seeing all the new stuff in action is incredible! The graphical overhauls, while not earth-shattering, really tie a knot on the game's visuals, the physics even just look better from onboards, the AI seems to have improved hugely and the new UI features are very appreciable for QOL (even if, to be a total nitpicker, I kind of preferred the original font? Had a more unique look to it as opposed to the cleaner, professional but slightly generic look of the new one)

That McLaren looks properly grounded on the track with not a crazy slip angle when trail braking.

I believe that it is indeed, but formula cars are not the best to show it off. But the tyres are pretty cool now. They start shining as they're brand new. The ones that suffer more(front left) becomes opaque faster. And the visible flat spots. Pretty cool features.

The two biggest issues with the current 2024 F1 cars in AMS2 are:
    1) The ai cars only use the SOFT tyres, never the mediums or hards, which is a breach of the rules that state you must use at least two tyre compounds during the race.
    2) They don't obey blue flags and let the leaders through, instead they fight them.
I'll be very disappointed if these two issues are not fixed.

Hmmm, I noticed yeeeeears ago that graphics don't come across once you make a video and especially once you upload it to YT.
You'd need to see a side-by-side comparison and even then usually most of the improvements don't really come across properly.
rF2 is a great example, often looks pretty good in videos and meh at best irl.
Let's wait for the actual update, it'll look even more spectacular in mid-October with the time set to late afternoon.
I mean in-game mid-October. The update I could live with if it dropped before that...:D

To those with access to the beta, (if you're allowed to talk about this), what type of car can we expect the biggest difference in handling? Fast with downforce, like f1, or more powerful and heavy, like stock car and BMW M1, or more the slower ones, like Copa cars and GT classics?

The tires look pretty terrible in those videos graphically. Especially those wet tires look horrendous. Also that sound of the Mclaren in the replay sounded pretty bad. Also sadly in the AI video you can clearly see that the AI has no access to complicated physics. You see they have tuned it a great deal but still it is off. For the rest I am not convinced with what I see in the wet weather with grip. A bit disappointing for me. But that is just my opinion.

Most of the graphics changes were implemented in the early part of the cycle so apart from YT graphics potentially be compressed/downgraded I guess the videos should be done on the most current beta hence the answer would be yes. Also what would be the point of the trailer otherwise?
