I wish I have some free camera tool to use in the replays, I would spend half of my play time creating videos.

just to keep us going... check out these pictures of the Aston Martin LMH(/LMDh?). One can dream for the future, given I think they're planning to join IMSA...

It's been confirmed that they'll have two cars full time in WEC and one full time car in IMSA. Excited as hell for it.

Fun fact for those who don't know: the team that mainly runs Aston in IMSA and WEC (Heart Of Racing) was co-founded by Gabe Newell. Yes, THAT Gabe Newell. His kid (Gary Newell) runs in GT America and GT4 America as well!

How do you create content/trailers for the game? Do you only use the trackside cameras that are set for the tracks? Any distant future where a free camera could be possible in the game?

I only created some videos using some of the already-in-the-game cameras.

There was some way to enable a limited offset movement from the chase camera, that's how I pulled of the Copa Firma trailer, I think it's not available anymore.

I don't think there is a plan for releasing a free camera.

Where i am from there is a saying..

    No news is good news.

The fact that part 2 of the development update is taking so long can be seen that there are many cool things in development, things that could perhaps be left for later updates but Reiza want to implement into the mile stone 1.6 update.

This could well be the most significant update that we have so far had.

Reiza did state that they are going for a "Quality over quantity" approach. Honestly, it's more about the wait than the update itself. I may not be a hardcore simracer, but to me the game already feels quite fine, I just wish there were a bit more features but I can well live without them.

Multi-round (Knockout) qualifying, and multiple-race weekends. More freedom in general for setting up the section.
Red flags if weather gets too intense during a race.
Also, while I see the "Edit grid" button in the AI settings, I see it greyed out, I assume it's not ready yet.
Also, a free camera for video shooting, and an "Auto-broadcast" for the weird people like me who like watching AI duke it out in videogames. On that front, while the AI is competent in general, I'd love for it to get more "human" like, expecially when attacking each other.
Most of these are "just me" things, and, again, I very much can live without them

You can do two-race weekends in custom championships.
The "Edit grid" button is for manually selecting the amount of cars in different classes for multi-class races where "Opponent number" is set to "Manual grid".

I do understand that these don't completely answer what you want from the features.

It would be excellent to have the ability to precisely select the specific opponents or cars that will compete in a single race or participate in a custom championship. While it's great to have access to various mods, it's worth noting that for example only two Opel Omegas and two Ford Mustangs (rather than the Sierra currently available) actually raced in the 1991 DTM season. Having full control over the starting grid would be a highly desirable feature.

That's the impression I get as someone who has access to the beta forum and beta builds.

Whenever there's a new feature there's a lot of testing, and it can take sometime before the developers decide it's ready for public release.
Take the new tires for instance: there's a lot of cars in AMS2, a lot of them have multiple tire compounds, so it takes time to update every tire compound of every car. They have to test at different tracks since grip level can vary from one track to another, they also have to test in different weather conditions. Then they have to calibrate AI with the new tire model in different car/track combinations and weather conditions. There's also all the feedback they get in the beta forums and in the weekly multiplayer tests and all the fine tuning they do based on player feedback.

I agree it can be disappointing that development update pt2 is taking so long but there's surely reasons for its delay.

So true. The complex development process related to tire compounds + weather + track-surface + AI is so much more involved than most people realize. For those that understand that point relatively well, the pace of Reiza development should be quite impressive.
