    Dear Santa,
we promise we were good lads
behaved well on and off tracks,
some slight lovetaps but no full checks,
caused no incidents, left no wrecks.

    The temperatures are rising,
we keep on racing, exhausts blazing.
Some more details on 1.6 we chasing.

    Please dear lord,
    grant us the Ford,
    grant us the improved Nords,
you know how to play our chords,
we promise, we'll do our chores :)

haha I loved it, it really is like that isnt it. Imagine the Aston V12 and the Cadillac racing at the same track, we'll be abble to listen from miles away.

To be honest I think it's just their natural choice of engine (what GM has access to, what they are familiar with, not designed from scratch) and it just happens to be rare air these days so as a side effect they get all the NA V8 karma :p.

The 333SP won 24h races. It didnt do better at Le Mans because of multiple reasons, but its reliability wasn't the main one. Thats the facts. Now you predicted that the Valkerie engine wouldn't last even a third of a 24h race. We will see about that then.

All you said is true about engines, yet, that still doesn't prove a high revving car can't do it, as examples in the past prove they could, plus the Valkerye engine doesn't even need to rev that high , or even higher than some other hypercars already do, so i honestly don't know what you are on about, the thing has a 6.5 liter V12. The Jags that won multiple 24h races in the 80s and 90s had similar engines to that.

True, there were also quite a few rule changes from conceptualization to finishing the car which didn't aid their idea though

True, but I think the car was a bit doomed from the start

Toyota also had to change some of their design concepts for the rule changes and they still have a very fast car. Peugeot wanted to be avant garde and unfortunately for them, very often those ideas don't work out in the real world as they do on the simulations.

Toyota also had 2 cars running already they just needed to adapt anyway, Peugeot was starting with a radical concept that was a lot more on the edge and more difficult to adapt.

Point is you're at least TRYING to learn. Good for you, you've made some progress, no matter how much or little it is right now.
Progress not perfection should be everyone's goal.
Perfection is practically unattainable and literally unsustainable in racing.
Aim for progress in outright speed and also in consistency.
Always remember this simple fact too, the "Aliens" out there were all in your position in the past.
Anyone who belittles your progress and urge to learn has forgotten or is ignoring that simple truth.
Before I got "bitten" by AMS2 I knew the very basic tricks to tuning, I now know more as a result of that same desire for progress, yet I'm STILL learning.
A good place to start for you.. Chris Hayes tuning guide playlist, breaks down the complexity over 12 videos, plus, provides a decent tuning diagnosis quick reference crib sheet in vid #11.

Direct link to the crib sheet. I still have it saved to my desktop.

Here is a question for you... after messing about relatively blindly i'm quite happy with my Mclaren GT3 setup... but for one thing. I have this weird thing where as I come off the brakes I get massive oversteer sometimes, like the car starts to slide instead of driving round. I looked on you checklist for what it's doing and couldn't see anything so it seems i've tuned myself into a rather pathological corner... what could I do to fix this?

Try fiddling with brake bias, usually moving it towards the front should help.

I pretty frequently had this issue when I was learning GT3s, it is probably not so much a setup issue. If you're losing it while on the brakes, you could play with brake bias or dampers. But if it's when you're coming off the brakes, imo you probably need to work on coming off the brakes more gradually

@wegreenall If all else fails, try reducing the rake. A steep rake can sometimes cause a car to spin when coming off the brakes.

It might help reducing engine braking a bit (increasing the value in the setup), it is pretty high on most defaults.

Thank you all for your advice - I get the feeling it is likely a me issue than a car issue really. I have been trying to come off the brakes a little less aggressively and it seems to do a bit better... it's easy to get into bad habits!
