Are there any talks of split starts being an option with multi-class racing?

I think it was between February and March when they did some "Minor tire tread adjustments". They called it minor but the difference was massive.

Try the Brazilian Stock 2024 class. That class has a preview of the 1.6. tyre model. the driving is edgy and very rewarding.

    Can't wait for 1.6 Caterhams!!!

What's crazy is that both that and the Fomrula Ultimate gen 2 were to me very boring before... now they're amazing. I can't IMAGINE how good the LMDh are or the group C or the group A or the...

Are the new LMDh cars going to work like it does in LMU? It seems virtual fuel isn't fully modeled in AMS2, much like it isn't modeled in iRacing either

I doubt it, also the virtual energy is an overcomplicated way of equalizing the pit stops length and stints between the different engines, so Reiza can sort of do that equalizing with the regular fuel IMHO.

With the 1.6 update, the functionality was implemented in a similar way to LMU. The ERS levels no longer influence the top speed but the fuel efficiency.

Do you feel the way that LMU does it, with open settings for every each car and practically everything is individually adjusted is overly complicated too?

This is of course, cool to see. But I was more asking whether LMDh cars need to require manual setting of fuel tank and ERS like in LMU. The settings are entirely open in LMU and it's very easy to get it wrong (i.e. add in more fuel than you need for a Virtual Energy Tank run). As well as manually setting hybrid power deploy with specific power measurements.

Tomorrow is August. An update on the update of the update would be awesome.

Very excited for 1.6 and the tire magic reiza has conjured up!

Whilst I guess it is cool that there are sims that try to represent this, this sounds boring/annoying as hell. I already get annoyed with like, overly trusting the fuel estimates for AMS2 and running out a lap early even though I put 22 laps of fuel in a 20 lap race but this sounds ridiculous...

Apart from the (what I identify as a) POV problem that ruins some of the driving feeling/immersion, the next big thing is AI - having an AI that behaves natural (both driver and physics) is halfway to recreate a sense of reality. I do think other sims can do it better still, although I recognize REIZA efforts and steps in the right direction.
    Then collisions.
Then tyre physics (just because REIZA has already done great evolution here).

Really hope a sim just... well, simulates reality. There are other games more adapted to a super-casual player (get home, enter the car and spending the next 20m in a race). Sims do require some commitment, challenge, time.
I love the way LMU implements it. It's another layer of density to the driving experience. It's easy to see that REIZA had more plans to LMDh, not just it's initial release state. Let's see how it gets.

It´s now as late July as it gets and since there is still no dev update it´s time for another update on the update :)

This has been a massively challenging (if rewarding) month with many things coming to head, from licensing negotiations being concluded (with all paperwork that involves) along with massive in-game developments (including physics & AI with are the fronts I head along with supervising all that´s going on elsewhere) leading to various game components needing to be almost fully disassembled before getting reassembled again; some hurdles were met along the way to be either overcome or walked around, while opportunities arose and had to be made the best of. In sum, a typically hardcore Reiza crunch month :p

Juggling all that already required more hours than there are in the day, and with the dev update bits I´d already written back in June demanding rewrites almost on a weekly basis, the focus had to narrow down to the doing what had to be done, and leaving to write about it later.

Now with all that either done or well on its way, we are all anxious to share all that we´ve been cooking these past few months - and there are many, many exciting news t o cover.

No dates or schedules to offer just yet however, other than AMS2 v1.6 is well on track to meet our summer 2024 release schedule, with enough material for two more dev updates to cover until then ;)
