i dont know where AMS 2 takes LIVE forecast data for the tracks but i notice that at Nordschleife has "no fog" when choosing real time weather
same goes for assetto corsa live weather from mods
please Reiza look at it a lot of times weather data arent accurate

 

My personal hope that the odd track out is actually Mosport rather than Detroit because Mosport on the 2024 calendar is LMP2, GTD Pro, GTD only. Does not feature the big LMDh cars, and of course IMSA is well known for being the LMDh championship.

Detroit just now featured the headliner cars + GTD Pro. So if there's any track on the schedule that would feel less impacted through omission it would be Mosport rather than Detroit since the LMDhs aren't racing at Mosport to begin with.

The other IMSA track that doesn't have the headliner cars is VIR, but AMS2 thankfully already has VIR.

Of course, I'd love both Mosport and Detroit.

I liked it, and I'd like it's inclusion just because it's more street tracks, which as I've mentioned earlier, tends to not be frequently offered on sims. The downtown Detroit track seems to be here to stay, as Roger Penske is more personally involved in moving the Detroit race from Belle Isle to Downtown.

 

I hope all of them arrive, but maybe Detroit is harder to do due to it being a street track

 

My hope for the UI overhaul is also the addition of a better free cam/drone cam system like what was used in the smoke showcase video, particularly when the Camaro was doing burnouts. My guess is that it was potentially dev/debug tools. If we can get something like that natively for AMS2, that'd be fantastic.

 

Yes, I'd also like to see Detroit in the game at some point (not necessarily the next DLC), not just for the sake of completeness but also because driving street tracks at night is a pretty special experience. Also it would probably be a lot better for slower/smaller car categories.

Agreed. I’m a film editor in the day time (average sim racer by night) and am desperate to cut a spec commercial of ams2. Already got a rough edit, just need to capture some decent in game footage but can’t get what I want from the current replay cameras.

 

does the IMSA deal include Mazda MX5 cup?

 

AFAIK no because the deal is for the sportscar champion and only for the races and not cars

 

I also find that street circuits are lacking in AMS2, which is why I wish Detroit was there. But if you ask me what urban circuits I want in AMS2, not sure that Detroit is there. It's not a great track and it's certainly better for indycar than IMSA. Bring Surfers Paradise, Toronto and Singapore instead...

Join Race Craft Online. Quite good system there, but it needs more drivers. And races are in weird times, at my local time GT4 is at 16.30 and 19.30 and 22.30. More time slots would be great. Still, I have had some exiting races. I recommend!

Hot stinking garbage. IMSA was rather a Wreckfest lobby yesterday

 

I watched the race and it sucked, yes. Track is too narrow and doesn't suit IMSA cars. In fact, it doesn't suit Indycars either. Most street circuits suck, if you ask me. Long Beach is ok, but Detroit and Nashville are sort of Mickey Mouse tracks. Same in F1: Baku, Vegas, Miami, Jeddha, Singapour... all *meh*.
