Interesting choice for a first posting - welcome. :)

It is possible to go off-track ingame - just don't expect it to cope well with being on loaded tires while in strong power application or coast state. (1.6 may help with the tires on tarmac side being a better contributor to stick vs. slide with one sided off-road but don't expect tires off road when loaded to be easy peasy). You should be able to recreate something like that actually tho:

It was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment(in jest): All sim games have the same feel: the grass is ice.

Not arguing for or against the grip of slicks on grass in AMS2, but I want to add that 1) I remember seeing that battle and final overtake live and thinking "OMG, he's gone insane this is going to end horribly" and 2) at that kind of speed there's a lot of downforce involved which I guess helped keep the car straight. IMHO a lot of the issues with grip on grass comes from either having not enough speed to generate significant amounts of downforce or already entering the grass at an angle (half-slide, if you want) so the airflow stalls anyway.

EDIT: My comment regarding downforce only pertains to high-downforce cars like GTs, Formula cars and prototypes, obviously. Formula Vee and others are naturally a very different kind of beast (though it surely helps that some of these like the Vee don't run full slicks).

Yeah, all good, i'd agree for some, but not all tracks in AMS2 (friction coeffs themselves for grass are determined after true figures though, some factors playing into it). I get more troubles when running too wide at Oulton T3 and 4 (which is loaded scenario) while it's fine to try my luck at the Nordschleife (when on straights with tight track).

Kind of off-topic but I'm still curious, what language is AMS2 primarly written in?

Having driven cars with slicks IRL, and putting it in the grass many many times, I can tell you it might as well be ice most of the time lol

And I thought that grass had loads of grip and it takes you rolling. Boy, I was wrong then.

This is a world-class footballer, he's got way more control on slippery surface than most of the other players and knows how to execute a request for referee response

You are correct, skill matters on grass

Is wet grass slippier than dry grass?

Wet grass becomes mud so yes. I can do burnouts in my small scooter if the grass is wet, but not when it’s dry

I used to ride wheelies on my dirt-bike as a teenager (long, long, long time ago!). It was actually much easier to raise the front wheel when riding on dry grass vs Gravel. Wet grass was something to be avoided, though.

I'm asking about AMS2, not real life. :)

And thats not why grass is extremely slippery, when wet. :)
